Hello to all Truespace-users!
Well, I'll try to describe my problem:
Very often when I want to work in the workspace mode the workspace-screen converts to blue when I hold the cursor over the view widget or the navigation widget or when I click any button.
I can see all toolbars, only the window is blue.
It's the same blue as if you use the ground colour 'none', but I can't see my model, the navigation widget or the light widgets.
The only way to get back the 'usual view' is to click the 'model'-button and then turn back to the worspace view.
In the model view is everything all right.
I hope somebody can help me, I'm really confused .
Thank you in advance!
EDIT: Dammit, it's hard to describe in English, I hope you'll understand it yet. |

A picture would help, but some thing to try is update your video drivers, that cures most of the screen redraw errors I get.

EDIT: Dammit, it's hard to describe in English, .....
nee, war schon verständlich:p
Can think of several reasons for this
- maybe the 3D settings for grafic are set up to high according to your grafics card and your machine
- possibly have a "shaking" in your mouse so that an object get's into the way that you can't look through
If the last case is it, the view should be slightly changed after you get back to Workspace
Otherwise see if changing the hardware settings helps (lower right corner, it's the most upper symbol, looks like a grafics card |

The blue screen problem was a driver issue some while back. The current nVidia drivers don't have the problem as far as I know. |

OK, now I'm back.
The last days I was really busy (lots of homeworks), so I couldn't enter the computer. I'm very sorry, but it wasn't possible earlier.
Here some facts of my computer:
- internal memory: 3071 MB
- processor: 2.39 GHz
- operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium
- graphics card: NVIDEA GeForce 8600 GT (there was no possibility to update the driver) |

Unsure on the no possibility about the driver - is it a laptop you mean? Or the driver is up to date?
Thanks!

I am using the same graphics chip in my desktop. I am not sure of the driver version, I don't think I have updated for a couple of months... no blue screen of death errors on TS for me though.
It is hard to imagine that you would not be able to use the Nvidia drivers on your card...

Laptops can be hard to update drivers on - sometimes they are tied to the laptop manufacturer and not the graphics card manufacturer, and the downloads from the GPU site won't install on the machine. If your laptop maker doesn't keep pace with the latest drivers (and from what I've seen, most usually don't and lag as much as a year or two behind), then it can be hard to get an up to date driver installed.
I believe it is always possible, just not through automatic routes - maybe some laptop users can comment.
This is why I ask on what is meant - if a laptop and it tells you there is no update, I would look into manually updating the driver to a more recent version as it could be your laptop manufacturer has you stuck with an old NVIDIA driver that does cause issues. If a desktop and things are up to date then clearly a different solution would be needed.
As a note, what drivers are you using? Those of us with NVIDIA cards remember the problem driver versions well, so we can confirm whether the ones you have are up to date, or back in the problem set that existed around 2 years ago.
HTH!

Try these:
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=23475
they also include OpenGL 3.1 support and your card is listed as supported. If it won't install you need the modded ".inf" file also. Let me know if you need help installing it. |

Hello, I'm very happy: Truespace operates and on monday are Easter holidays... :jumpy:
If you want to know, this was my little mistake  :
My PC is our family computer, everyone has his own account and I'm not the admin. If I want to download or update something or the like, I have to run the computer as the admin - so I have to ask him every time. (I hate this system but what can I do?) Because of that I couldn't update the graphics card recently. Sorry for the trouble I made with that...
Once more many thanks! |
