with sripting in ts it gets really fustrating when you are not sure what

variables it can possibly take. basically the jsript doesnt bug me but mostly that i didnt feel like there was enough documentation. sorry if its not clear im typing on a cell phone my only means of internet at the moment.

First off, that's a real pain(cell phone conection)...try it while you are driving(on second thought...DON'T try it while driving)..

Second, do you know any good resources for VB/J script??? I am of decent intelligence, but simple things get by me on occasion...when I first started I couldn't figure out the difference between a local and a global variable..lol.

CLOTH SIMULATION????

Thats very necesary at this point...

Or at least the ability to import simulation data for rendering so we can use our preferred third-party simulation solution. Not as important for cloth, maybe, but for fluid and softbody simulation it would open up a world of possibilities for working with trueSpace in a professional sense where it's okay to spend $5k on a program that does just one thing, like fluid or particle motion simulation - as opposed to a hobbyist sense, where that seems kind of outrageous.

And that's a goal, right? More professionals using trueSpace?

Kudos! Try and catch splinters...

I'm really flagging recently...

Anyway, back to cloth simulation...yes please, it would be a real asset to trueSpace (and my characters :D ).

Some weeks ago I was a little busy with cloths for TS.

I thought maybe it is possible to script it in the LE.

I believe it is possible but it would be very very slow.

If you want to manage the springs between the vertexes

The wind.

The gravity.

The stiffness.

Collisions with itself and other objects.

(As a simulation, you could make a cloth with simple bones

some hundred bones would be a good start:rolleyes: )

I think only the Caligari developers would be able to programm it

for us. Because they can compile the functions and don't need to

script in VBScript or JSScript.

So as it stands, the LE is the primary means for anyone "non-Caligari" to create plug ins? No API is in the works? JavaScript and VB...that's it?

Yes, I had this thought too...basically 4 bones would conrol each vert. with a 25% influence each..the bones on the non-manifold edges could be assigned alternate attributes..like sticky or drag etc...

assigning to every other vert is more feesable though and wopuld look better..but this would be slow probably. Good ideas though.
