Motion Studio stores info such as plugin settings, window state, location, etc. in the registry upon exit, and loads these values when the plugin starts. It could be that, somehow, it is loading but is simply off-screen or otherwise positioned such that you can't see the interface.

WARNING: I'm sure you may know, but it's always worth mentioning: Be careful in the registry.

Have a look here:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Primitive Itch\Motion Studio

Check out these values:

WindowLeft

WindowTop

WindowWidth

Ensure that they are reasonable values. For instance, WindowWidth should certainly be greater than 0 (mine is 249 hex (585 decimal)), and the WindowTop and WindowLeft values should be some pixel values that would appear within-screen (mine are Left=400 hex, Top=49 hex). ((NOTE: This is dependant upon your resolution setting.))

My WindowState value is set to 0.

Have a look at the registry and let me know what you see there.

I used those values you suggested but it did not reappear.

I uninstalled Mostu, but noted those values remained.

I reasoned that if it was not installed at all, there would be no entry in the registry and so thought if I deleted the whole entry (only) related to Mostu possibly consisting of corrupted values and re-installed it, it would come in with the correct ones like at the beginning.

On doing so, it turned up normally

Many thanks again. :D

Hi

In the tutorial, there is a need to create a floor for the character to walk on. This is more or less a simple straight path in the clip.
The author just mentions it & in the next scene in the clip, shows a "Solid,1" created on the left hand side of Mostu in the setup mode.

We would also like to add a floor to help us guide where the feet should go ... Now we have a floor here

The problem is I do not see how that is achieved. I have seen no clue in the 2 documentations, the online Mostu tutorial & in the Mostu documentation.

In the Animate mode, there is "Floor" under the "Joint" menu, but I do not see how to use it as it is not activated and - the author seems to move into the Setup mode when he talks of going to create one, where it is not even there under Setup => Joint.

So how does one create a floor? :o

Assuming the character's feet are aligned with the floor...

Click one of the joints, then click the Floor button. At this point, that joint will not travel below the floor when posing. You can set both feet this way.

The "floor" area is set at whatever point you click that joint. It doesn't necessarily have to be the floor plane. In other words, wherever the foot joint is when you click the Floor button, that now becomes the floor. An actual object / plane is not necessary for this to work - that could be added to the scene later for rendering, if you like.
