Vizu,
Good work. Have you try'ed to make renders like other car builders do? I've found that it really helps to find any errors or deforms that show-up. Using Eviromental maps simply cause to much confusion in the early stages, however good looking the renders turn out.
I did a quickie test and this is what I got:

Chrono-Have you try'ed to make renders like other car builders do?
You did not mention how they do it Chrono-your example was good but how was it done? |

Ah! Yeah that would help wouldn't it. :o
It's a parameteric Cube with a corner radius of .25, a top of 1.25, & a bottom of around 2.0-2.5. Flip all of the cubes faces, remove the top of the cube with it's curved corner and resulting face, and apply a neutral gray shader with 'smooth' faceting and it's diffuse setting at 1. The next step is to place a Skylight, though I'm sure other lighting can be used, over the cubes opening with the setting of:
Hue 180
Sat. .078
Intensity .6
RayCast shadows at 9
Physically based lights
OverCast
Skylight settings of Min .69 & Max .7(for speed and quality) |

Looking very nice Visu! You seem to have got the right level of detail as this looks quite convincing as it is (ie without wheels etc).
One comment: red cars are way more likely to be involved in accidents than any other colour; so much so that in France it is not possible to get insurance for red cars! ;) |
