...and you don't normally get a glass that has a pink tint (correct me if i'm wrong), it just looks a bit too fake, it looks like the type of glass you have on adventure games such as thief (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thief_(computer_game)). (coudn't find a better link)

Yes and no and ... "

Parva !

The First Glass have to dark unreal areas (is a renderingproblem of Vray.

The second have just water and looks more real for me.

The pink color is the result from my global illumination Image wich have a pink taint.

Your very first glass looks really great. Even the dark areas of the glass itself didn't look unreal. It adds something special. The only thing is the black stroke from the liquid but all other is amazing. What I find interesting that the glass has green color which is possible. I'm not sure if it comes from the glass color or another source.

If you still have the scene and I'm allowed I would really like to take a view on it.

Glass itself need less settings to be adjust. Transmission and Refraction and if you want to fade out the black outlines you can increase the luminance to 0.02.

Another thing is Caustics.

1481

In this scene there is just one spotlight which casts a shadow and like known every light which pass a transmission material (here glass) becomes a caustics energy (transparent shadows looks unnatural).

The shadow from the glass looks dark but it's normal if there is no other direct lightsource. Caustics are pushed up to 4000 - one thing which looks strange is that the Caustics paints the glass faces as faceted

Many nice renderings.

I have download the scene too and this is my result.

http://www.vizualizer.de/Images/Trinkglas.jpg

Rendered with VRay 1.0, Transparent shadows, 1 Arealight.

;aterial is the fresnelshader with angle setting.

i have add 2 colored cubes to the right side.

Change the watermaterial to a orange color for the wine.

... ah i forget, the rendertme was long, around 20 Minutes. (i think VRay can need a bit more accelerate for this scene)

Very nice indeed, although I don't like to guess what kind of wine it is :)

Just got to looking at your scene, changed a few more things.

Every time I swirl wine in this glass I have to do laundry!
