Wow, a massive 14 entries -that must be close to a record. Many thanks to everyone who supported the competition this time around and I think you will all agree there has been a great selection of entries. Good luck all.

Hahahaha, man that is funny, if I had seen it before I voted I might have sent my vote to someone else because you are trying to sway the votes your way :D

That is funny though.

Well, nearly; I haven't been back to check on the early challenges, but I know that we had 16 entries on SMC32, 18 on SMC33 and 14 on SMC34, but generally these are well above average compared to earlier in the year so it does seem that general participation has improved a lot which is great.

And I echo your thoughts on the great selection - a tough vote (again). Good luck to all....

Should have made that 15 as I didn't include my own. :o

Its just a pity that there seems to be no discernable link between the choice of topic and a high volume uptake in the challenge.

Breech Block, I like how you promoted event not only here but also Round Table which I think helped.

Quick question, should I wait before I release model for anyone wanting to look at it? Maybe more so for the special effect then anything else. At first I thought I just give scene or object file with contest entry but realize I've havn't seen that done before so I held off. Maybe better just to wait until all votes are in but I really don't think I will win in any case.

Thanks Noko, Glad you liked it. This is the first SMC I have run and to be honest I didn't realize just how much work it involved. Great credit to all those who ran the ones before me. As for posting your model\scene, personally I would wait until after the winner is announced just to stop any mis-interpretation that you are trying to influence votes. I for one can't wait and will be very keen to see how your SFX was acheived.

BTW, don't worry if you don't get many votes. I only got one on my first SMC. Your also up against an unusually top notch bunch of entries.

Good luck all the same.

Thanks for reply, I figure as such and glad I held off. Naa, not worry if I get any votes or not, having fun doing them and figuring out how I can speed up my rate some which I need to do, so I win anyways :). Plus the masters here are truely deserving of their votes which also is very motivating as well.

Best thing to do if you want to share your model is go into the Garage forum and post it there. I have a few models and textures posted there as do many other people.

No, it's because it's very well done and actually fulfills the brief by being both iconic and a prop, not a brand new computer character which is neither! :)

Don't sell yourself short Mike - its a good model which has been well textured. I also think your cause has been helped by the fact it stands out against most of the other images as they are all mainly hardware related.

totally agree, with what you say and Breech Block's comments, its nicely done, meets the requirements and proves 3.2 still has its place :)

Didn't realise they had 29 months in a year where you come from Prodigy. :D

Please look closely at the date of closure again and you'll notice it closes on the 29th day of the 9th month. Just the strange way our American brethren interpret her majesties calender. :p

It's true that the American way of interpreting the date system is a little odd but it's not Her Majesty's calendar (search the web or Wiki for Gregorian Calendar which is the system currently in use). It's Her Majesty's language they butcher! :)

It is indeed odd and something the UK never (EVER) incorporates. We in the UK still have logic...day of the month of the year...what is wrong with that?

...and the hood of a car is a ...."bonnet"?...snicker.....

Also I learned a while back in these forums not to kiss ANYTHING in your Country, especially round objects on fingers...

Because 'hood' is so much more sensible (it's still a form of cranium cover!) :-)

...not to kiss ANYTHING in your Country

Haha! Yeah, that sooo made me laugh! :-)

But let's stop this now before anyone doesn't get the notion of mild banter and gets upset.

I'm happy with these results. I would never have expected to be so close to winning.

You produced a really great model prodigy.

Everyone produced great models I wish I could have voted more than once.

It's not over yet and you are the winner in my eyes MikeJoel. As good as Prodigy's image is, it's not an iconic movie prop so doesn't fill the brief for me.
