I'm working on one, off and on. I've got about 47 minutes left according to my notes, so if I resume working on it tomorrow after work, I'll probably hit the time limit then.

I have doubts I'll actually finish the darned thing inside of two hours, but I'll texture and enter what I've got when I hit the two hour mark.

I plan on putting one up this weekend. Maybe sooner if I get the chance. Got an idea I think might work.

I will try and do 1 as well but may not happen, I am sure most of the testers are a bit busy at the moment myself included.

I've got an idea sketched and should have just enough time left to bang it out. Tough topic this time around.

You can't really have a challenge with only two entries.....I'd go for an extensions (2).

Given the unwritten rule that the host doesn't enter their own challenge it's only really one entry! Therefore I'd recommend extending it a further week.

I must admit, I have zip inspiration for this one.

What? No instant win for me? :)

Kidding.

I agree, I think an extension is in order.

Jack, this entry i made for you in just only 7 minutes when i saw your post...

5659

Yes doent have many details, but is a case and in 7 minutes... i have another 110 minutes to add more details...

The other option is cancel the contest and another user start again.

Thanks! I wish I had more time to finish more details and fix a couple of things. Ah well.

But like I said in my post with my entry, I think I will finish this one.

another option is add one extra hour..

I never think have this trubles with a simple case.. :(

The other idea for this speed challenge was made a Camera.. but i think maybe is to dificult, better a case.. anybody can make a case with cubes.. but now i think if i choose a camera, many users think.. mmm is not dificult at all..

I don't think it's a difficulty issue, I suspect it's a combination of lack of time and/or inspiration.

@prodigy:

Of course anyone can do a box, boolean out some bays and call it a computer but that's hardly inspirational! :p :D

I think you're first entry set a pretty high standard and so we're all scratching our heads trying to come up with something cool that doesn't look: "been there done that"

My idea is going to rely more on textures than modeling though unfortunately.

LOL, maybe a few of us just need to give up on trying to be creative and throw up some slightly modified textured boxes, so we can have a few more entries. ;)

@ed

Nice entry btw! :)

Jack, if you see i just mode the dvd and the temperature control, but the case is a simple sphere...

Realy im sad because i think for some reason i broke the "speed" of this challenge.. thats bad, and im responsable of this topic..

Thanks Jack.

I originally was going to to a (eeek!) Mac G5. I just like the way it looks.

Also, just cause it's a computer case, doesn't mean it has to be a cube. I also thought of my machine at work (see below - and please ignore the dust and dirt) which has plenty of curves to challenge with.

I just settled on the XBOX 360 because I like the curves and nice clean lines. It also has a nice organic feel.

LOL Prodigy,

I think it's the coolness of your idea that's more intimidating than the modeling. ;)

Hey we're going to have topics that don't catch on. The key is just to decide whether to extend them or pick a new one. Look at the firearm challenge, very few entries until after everyone got over the mental block or found time after the holidays. I think you're right though, and maybe we're all trying too hard on this one.

I've got to run out to the vet office to take care of some things, so I'm hoping you'll choose to extend it. It's a topic that I think is good for first time posters and hopefully we'll get some more entries. besides I think there's little sense in starting a new topic with the 7.5 release imminent. But maybe we should only extend it a few days and arrange a shortened voting period so that we can announce the new topic when 7.5 is released. :)

Good point Ed. :)

You guys have seen my rig in the hardware section, heck that'd be a BEAST to model, LOL! Probably a 2 week project. ;)

I think the hard part here is just finding the inspiration to do something unique. Maybe someone will do an old tape and tube type computer... or WWotW could do a Stone Henge recreation... oh wait oops too late. ;)
