the way is to get more practice, not to win the challange.
I don´t see it as a battle vs the rest.
It´s just fun :) |

Guys - how about we all just stick to posting entries in this thread so that Norm hasn't got to prune it at the end and shift everything to a comments thread like he's had to do the last few times to make the viewing easier at judging time? There's really no need to comment on every entry. |

Okay, I'll post here. :)
You need to stop trashing up the Contest thread with your comments.
Then, you comment on a mistake of another in the thread in the contest.
Ever hear of private messages?
I would say more, but wouldn't want to bruise your ...er nm. :) |

I think with your mental problems you loose the ability to have funny times with others users.. i never laugh or critic their proyect because doesnt have 4 legs.. even in the render nobody noted... its a great job and i do just for make this contest more funny ..
i think you cant laught from your own problems and thats why you dont want see others have fun..
And by the way.. i never imagine send to you PM because:
1) I dont have time..
2) You have mental problems and i must understand you..
3) I prefer use now the ignore list..
4) You never bring nothing good to this comunity..
Good luck..
YOU WIN!! JAMESMC!! YOU ARE THE FIRST ON MY IGNORE LIST!! congratulations...
** SORRY GUYS.. but someday i must finish this.... |

To reply to prodigy from the other thread, I turned that leg to it's side so people could see it when I did the wireframe.
You will notice that it is the front left leg, which is there in the picture. Seeing it from the top does not show how it was made close enough. :D
I also took the Abacus apart for the same reason. Just to show how the individual parts were made. |

Yeah, well my daddy's a policeman so there - ner!
For goodness sake James. Prodigy puts a lot of very positive and supportive energy into this community - get off his back please. He does not deserve your acrimony.
You have been asked repeatedly is many different ways by many different people to please try and just chill out. Life is too short to waste looking for fault all the time.
Your comment quoted above is simply rude and in my opinion, uncalled for. Please moderate your tone in future.
Thanks
Stephen

Everytime I have had a problem modeling or wanted to improve my lighting Prodigy has helped me. His talents cannot be ignored. To put him down for his enthusiasm and spirit makes me question the motive. His translation is sometimes a little off but he is just trying to help.
James if you have a problem with him use the ignore list and move on. You speak the native language and I question YOUR true meaning! If your act doesn't stink then show by example. You haven't tried that yet. |

Yes, my bad for attacking St. Prodigy. He couldn't have possibly done anything wrong.
Forgive me St. Prodigy for pointing out that Private Messages should have be utilized in pointing out mistakes of a contestant's entry.
Now, where do I say my "hail Mary's" here on the tS forum? :)
All you do is attack people on this forum with rude comments when it is completely unnecessary!!
Just stop being a Prat!!!!!!!!!!:mad: Leave if you hate it so much!!!!

Ah yes, yee ole slide rule... been many, many moons, almost seems like another lifetime... before the day of calculators, back when men were men, and engineering students had pocket protectors, yes, those were the days. I knew I'd see one of those here eventually. Nice Job Wizard.
In life, we learn that there are cycles, things that we can predict, things that we can reliably estimate when they will happen. The tides, the cycles of the moon, changing of the seasons, migrating flocks of birds leaving in the early winter months and than returning as the spring starts to come around...
And now we have the 5 day cycle here on the forums, every 5 days a certain member cycles thru a period of unbearable chaos during a 2-3 day period, attaching anything that stirs his ire, often seen tearing into anything that is good and creative, threatening to leave and go to places where he is appreciated and loved, where the software is plentiful and good, to a gradual lessening of tone to a 1-2 day period of quiet and bliss than the cycle again begins and all holy unrest once again arises. During the periods of unrest, the board goes silent, creativity stops, arguments arise, no new WIP threads are created, members take a break from their loved hobby of creating with 3D software and argue and bicker amongst themselves over insignificant and meaningless issues...
Ah, the cirle of life...
Wish I were alittle better at writing, I bet Wizard could have done a wonderful job to this story.
On closing I can only say what has been said before, and needs to be said again. I WANNA BE A HIPPIE!!!!

It is a very good slide rule pic! I like the way the numbers were done. Lots of depth to them. Also the magnifying cylinder looks to have the right index of refraction (though I guess that's less of a modelling thing and more of a texturing thing). What version was it rendered with? |

He beat both of us to it, I had an idea to do an abacus as well, but by the time I'd got the idea clear in my mind & knew how I wanted to go about it he'd already posted his. :( |
