Well after testing the x10 version on other machines I decided to use x9 instead for this game. I plan on selling the finished product for a small fee, so I would like it compatible with a lot of machines. I just do not think many people have the required type of computer yet. My next game will be x10, but this one will finish in x9. I hope to have it finished by christmas time.

I did some work on the first level in x9 and think its done now, the logic isn't all figured out but the level is. See attached movie

Hello

I would be eternally grateful to anyone who can test this level and give me their computer specs and the framerate in the game. You can bring up framerate by hitting tab while in the game.

Here is the link:

http://www.truesourceshop.com/wips/fso/fso9.1.zip

It is about 50 mb.

Thanks Folks!!

Do you have a known minimal specs? Like what OS do you know it won't run on and such.

I will try to download it over night (Im on dial up and 50MB would take 8+ hours). What are you writing the game in?

Thanks

Mike

I would recommend a video card with at least 256 mb ram, 2 gb memory, and dual core processor. I know the specs are kind of high but the engine is kind of demanding. I am making the game with fps creator which is based on dark basic. It should be fine on xp or vista.

3dfrog,

I downloaded your game and fired it up. It is very cool! :jumpy:

I am assuming you are looking for the system information that the game menu displays.

Here it is:

Windows Vista Home Premium, CPU: intel P6 (Model 15), DirectX Version: 4.09.00.0904, Screen Res.: 1680x1050.

My frame rate was consistently 38.

Let me know if you need more information than this and I will get it to you.

Awesome Wally thank you. Is intel p6 dual core? How many mb video ram do you have? I'm happy it ran so well.

Thanks for trying kena. Do you have the latest directx version installed. If you go to microsoft website, downloads, directx and get the end user runtime 9.0c the game will probably run. That is the most common thing that prevents the game from running.

Thanks wally :)

Edit: oh i see you have same directx as wally, so I don't know why it wont run. I'll look into it.

Good to see a ts user having a crack at FPSC. Looks great so far. :)

My project has been on hiatus for some time; now that x9 has been upgraded maybe I should get back to it. How are you getting your models into FPSC, straight from 7.6?

Also, 38 fps should be the maximum fps you get as I think this is the hardwired setting in FPSC.

Thanks man. I have to run my models through uu3d before they get to fpsc because stright from ts the textures are messed up in fpsc, although they are fine in uu3d.

Yeah the max ramerate is 38 in fpsc, hopefully that will change at some time.

Attached is the movie of the beginning of the stables.

Hi Everyone

I have pretty much completed the two level demo I will release soon. I would appreciate if folks could test it out and let me know how it performs on their system. Also any suggestions on making game play better.

What you have to do is kill all the frogs on the first level and find the key to the stables. Go in the stable door and you will be brought to the next level. Find the key there then find your way upstairs to the door that has a general store sign. When you enter that door you will complete the demo.

If you are running this on vista please run as administrator or you may get an error due to fps pack pro.

Here is the link to the demo download:
http://www.truesourceshop.com/fso/demo/fso.zip

Thanks folks

kena, I am not sure the directx version info on my options menu is accurate, It is from an old program. Have you updated your directx 9.0c? Even if you have directx10 you have to update your 9.0c to play directx 9 games on vista. It runs both 9.0c and 10. I don't know why microsoft doesnt just include it. If you haven't updated 9.0c that would be the reason.

Thanks for trying it out. Let me know if you can get it to work after updating 9.0c runtime if you wanna give it another shot.

Thanks.

Okee dokee, here is the finished demo:

http://www.truesourceshop.com/fso/demo/fsodemo.zip

Many improvements made.

I don't know why it won't run on your machine kena but this one probably wont either as the engine and encryption software is the same. When I run the new encryption software on it I'll upload it again. I am just waiting on some features for it.

I'm happy to tell you that the game works on my computer....
It's a pretty good game(a better one then i could ever make)

Here are my specs:
Microsoft Windows XP
Amd Athlon 64 (doesn't say the rest)
DirectX Version:4.09.00.0904
Screen Resolution:1600x1024

the FPS is usually about 30-35 it went to 19 when im hidden my weapon and L.Clicked
one thing i don't like though it takes a lot of time to load twice first when you switch on the game and then when you start the game
but everything else looks good

BTW:The first screen when it shows you the system specs there should be a button called "Exit" or something

Thanks for trying my game :) I'm glad you enjoyed it. Sounds like you got a good fps. Yes I don't like it takes so long to unpack either, I am looking into a new game packer that is supposed to be immediate. That will stop the enter screen from not having an exit button too because that is part of the packer program.

Thanks :)

I will add ts forum to the credits as well as some a couple of other forums i post on. Still need to add those.
