Where is the exporter in tS7.6? I can't find it.

The only A7 format exporter that I'm aware of came with the gamePak plugin, which is no longer available. Hopefully a 3rd party group will write a new one once the new SDK is out.

Your best bet at the moment would be to export as COB (Model side), 3DS (Model side), Collada (Workspace side), .X (Workspace side), or OBJ (via LUUV plugin, Model side) and use UU3D to convert it:

Really depends on whether you need the bones animation intact as to which format to use. For animation you need to use Collada or .X formats which support bones animation and skin weights. Also BVH export could be useful for extracting the animation separately if needed..

I think Blender has an exporter as well, maybe one of the Blender guys can comment on a good TS->Blender->A7 workflow.

That's strange because I found the information in this web page

http://www.caligari.com/products/trueSpace/ts75/Brochure/specification.asp?Cate=BSpecification

But I can't that feature in tS7.6

Yup that's strange. Far as I know it's never been included in the base package. I'll give the Caligari guys a heads up. Could be a cut and paste error from the GameSpace pages. GameSpace had gamePak built in.

There is a Python script for Blender that can export to MDL7. Works perfect for static stuff. Export to OBJ, import the OBJ into Blender, then export to mdl. I have never tested it with animation though. TS 6.6 up to TS7.6 has no output format that would be compatible with one of the Blender importers when it comes to animation. None of the X versions loads nor does Collada.

Scroll down this page. There you can download the MDL7 script for Blender.http://user.schule.at/go/blender/

Last checked, the Blender Collada importer doesn't support animation.

Blender exporter also exports rigged animation, find a tutorial and exporter here (http://user.schule.at/go/blender/).
