Hi frootee, Thank you for your feedback. Tentacles currently allows you to specify either models or scenes, (while searching), in the file formats drop down filter.

When publishing, your asset will be a 'model' if it has been saved as an object, (.RsObj file extension). Your asset will be a 'scene' if it is saved as such, (.RsScn).

We do allow you to add descriptions to the products you publish, and you can also include a Read_Me.txt file to your product as well.

I think that tutorials, scripts, and plug-ins would be a good addition to Tentacles for trueSpace and will pass along your request to our developers.

-Thanks

Thanks Buddy.

I saw from the link on Parva's post (to his space ship model on tentacles) that users can also search for Plugins, and Scripts. I selected Plugins, then searched for: truespace and turned up nothing, but when I did that for Scripts, I got one script. So it looks like we can currently upload scripts. I'll have to give it a go.

I think also an "interactive objects" category would be good. I do have a half dozen or so of those that I would be willing to add.

While this suggestion isn't neccessarily for a plugin (just overall account management)...

I would be really nice if there was a way to either hide products or suspend them, and be able to un- suspend/show products. This way the merchants have control and can temporarily hide products that they would not like sold.

Obvious uses would be if a merchant wants to run a special on a package that is usually composed of multiple models they have for sell. Also for people who need to simply hide products from buyers temporarily for any reason. :D

Hi Mike,

That feature has already been scheduled and will be implemented in a future release.

HI!

i have a question..

I know is possible update info, prize, comments.. etc..

But there's any way to update a 3d model??

I can't find the way. So if there's no way to update the object you need to: upload the new object, create the whole product (again, description, price, images...blablalba) and delete the old one.

All cons:
Lost time creating a new product (comments, price blablalba)
And you lost the link for that object ( problem if you share the url for that specific product)

Thanks!

In addition, those who purchased the download need to be notified of the update. How would we do this?

My concern is, if a fatal bug is found 'after' release, how do we notify those who purchased the product, to re-download it, without paying for it again?

Nice point Froo..

I believe, once they purchace the object still on his download library... so they can download several times, not just one.
But im agree, must be a method to comunicate about the fix or change..

From my experience with TS?? Ahh that is TurboSquid this time....

Anyway, if there is a problem with the model support will usually contact you once the customer creates a support ticket. Then you are given so much time to fix it are turbo allows a return (in actual workings sometimes a return will still take place after a fix), in which case the money is returned. Returns have been a very touchy subject between turbosquid and some of their merchants.

The MAIN problem of course being how do you stop someone from returning a model and getting their money back AND make sure they aren't keeping the model?

Sounds like buy at your own risk there. Also sounds like one has to go to extra steps to make sure submitted items is good as possible. Good questions Prodigy, I would like to know too.

That is a good question prodigy,

To update an asset you have previously published follow these steps:

1. Login to Tentacles and go to the My Files section

2. Select the asset you want to update in the left nav

3. Go the 2nd tab of the publishing wizard (Name / Price /Specs)

4. On the right side of this page click the [+ add new] button

5. Upload your updated file. You may also add a version number.

6. You can delete the original product file, or you can leave it. If not deleted customers who buy your asset will download both versions.

7. When you are finished, Make sure to click the Update button at the top-right.

Currently we do not send out notifications to customers when a asset they have purchased has been updated, but I like the idea and will write it up for the developers to consider.

I work in QA for TurboSquid, so I really am not familiar with how our Support department handles Returns and Refunds. That being said I grabbed a few links from our knowledge base on the subject:

Again, Thanks for the great feedback on Tentacles. I look forward to hearing others ideas you might have.

Ok this is (at least for me) quite useful, is a Turbosquid search engine extension for firefox.

Installing this extension on your firefox you can directly search inside turbosquid from your firefox..

Plus i made another extension for Google Images.. This improve my workflow alot.. :)

17014

Enjoy

You need to copy this xml inside your firefoxfolder\searchplugins
Restart Firefox and that's it..

**Here is another thread with a TSforum search extension. (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?p=88976#post88976)

This has more to do with TurboSquid in general, but I didn't want to take out a support ticket to give a suggestion.

Since there was no scripts category wth Tentacles, I just used the website to upload a tS script. I noticed that trueSpace is not on the list of "host applications". Would it be possible to add that?

Just cross-referencing another case where a scripts category would have been ideal for Tentacles:

http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?p=89756#post89756

Going to be quite a lot of these with tS, since we have an active community of people creating clever additions, extensions, tools, widgets and intelligent objects :)

Thanks!

Sorry for the delayed post but I see that a few people are have trouble with Tentacles and international version of Windows XP. I'll forward these comments to our QA team.

Thanks for the feedback.
