Is Roman alright?
And is he still working/leading Caligari?
Can he stilll type? ;)
The reason I ask is because it was soon five months since he made an update to his thread here... |

He is around. He seems to comment on posts every week or two. He commented on one of my threads 5 days ago. I would be so invigorated if there was news and updates! Its been 21 years for me since Truespace 1 so Iam always excited when updates do come. |

Yep he is fine, just much much busier than ever. For that reason, the number of my posts has gone up, to compensate for the number of his going down, as there's less chance for him to post here directly at present.
HTH!

Agree don't wait too much from him.. seems is he very busy since the acquisition.. in who know what...
News will come in any time in the (near or very far) future...
Also im agree, left something aside (captain's blog) without put something like "back in a few months" was not cool..
But you know.. Roman is Roman.. ;) |

I remember this time. I developed 3d apps just for fun since 1974 on screen vector. My computer was 2 meters high :D
I hope that Roman has as much passion as me. :) |

Thanks Roman for your comment. We were just wondering if we could get just a little UPDATE and SNEAK PEAK at the near future. Anticipation is a wonderful thing! We are on pins and needles waiting to hear

Sorry but I would have thought a little more "substance" would keep us up to date. No "developers are busy working on the trueSpace patch" or "your VRay fixes will be delivered shortly" ?
I don't consider putting up with some bugs in paid software for two years funny. |

In all seriousness folks, I google found that Roman is now:
Principal Dev Manager of Microsoft Corp., Virtual Earth / Local Search Business Unit (Public Company; MSFT; Computer Software industry) 2008 — Present (1 year)
and was
Founder Caligari Corp (Privately Held; Computer Software industry) August 1985 — January 2008 (22 years 6 months)
Hope all is well Roman! Cheers

Caveat emptor, dude. Read your EULA before taking cheap shots. All software licences are 'as is' , there is never any promise to fix things that don't work.
Yes it sucks, yes there are good reasons for it, and no, there's not much you can do about. Life sucks then we die.... |

That argument falls apart when the company and it's representitives advertise a patch... ELU or no.

Wow, its always tin-hat time with you.
EULA are a waste of space and can change at any time.
I go from Vendor direct info:-
Roman.... 8-4-2008
despite smooth launch we are already planning a patch in a few weeks with improvements which did not make it to last week release
tomasb....8-24-2008
This happens also in 7.1 and it will be fixed in a patch.
Roman... 10-13-2008
Patch will be forthcomming though and if everything goes well it will have an important new addition
Bye :) |

Never fear... the patch will also update your EULA!
(However, still no exemptions to the 'and then you die' clause) |

I'm not sure why anyone thinks Romans response is anything less than sarcastic!
I would assume from this that he is as pi$$ed as the rest of you. |
