? Rayman you make it sound like one has to start tS from default mode all the time - I think I've only needed to do it once!

Once a week sounds more like it for me.... but I´m not ranting ..

i have lots of plugins that i use like Maya navigation and light controls etc.....

now yafaray plugin etc.;)

Once a week? I can see that would be frustrating. Could it be hardware related or are you suggesting that the plugins cause the problems? I use tS a lot, often with huge scenes and the main trouble I have is that it can get sluggish with really big scene files. It very rarely crashes (although crashes are more likely in model side) for me.

Thanks Rich, have added the Unreal PSK/PSA Import Export to the list :)

The plugins vs default tS is a really big problem and a pain. I also have some plugins in use. Means when i need to reset to default context they are all gone and needs to be reinstalled. And every now and then tS even resets to default by itself. Have not found out why yet ...

Tiles your list is very handy, thanks.
I have the same problem that when loading trueSpace some of my plugin icons are blank (black). So I have to reload them. I never use reset to default context (at least in a year) yet I occasionally have this problem too.

Mostly not the plugins no. You can never say its one thing ...

its always a combination of things..

This Thursday I was at the Thursday night meeting and had 4 bad freezes

and had to restart TS....I saw Tom also come in and out a few times..

that sort of happens and not adherant to one software ... just always

a combination of things can sometimes even be bad geometry... you cant realy say... !

At some meetings I) have no problems at all..;)

Reset to default is no good for exactly that reason. I never use it or ever will.

Instead I create backup versions of default.ctx when all is going well with plugins installed. If truespace gets buggy or resets by it's self simply close truespace go to your latest backup of default.ctx and replace buggy default.ctx with it, restart and all is well again .

That's a great piece of advice Stan - I'm off to save a copy of my Default .ctx right now.:D
