Across this forum, I find developments of free plugins (or interesting layer, shader,...) some are interesting but they are quickly surrounded by comments from users. then they get lost in the archives. Is it possible to have a thread without opportunity to respond and managed by a moderator? This thread (Sticky) would give a list of free plugins or other with a brief description and a link to download it (with the agreement of the author).

This thread should always be visible on the front page. A kind of summary of activity on the development of TS by the community. Useful for all.

For that very reason I keep saying - TurboSquid.

One place, no comments, various search tools.

?...Turbosquid is a store. not a summary of activity on the development of Truespace by the community in this forum. It is only what I thought.

Yes i thought of a summary of this kind of thread with just the link without comments except a brief explanation which complicates research. There are to many interesting things lost in the forum.

TurboSquid can host plugins, and it can host free items. This would make it an ideal store for plugins, scripts, objects, etc, as then they are all in one place, they are all searchable, and you can find just free, or those that cost money too.

Easier to maintain than threads where you have to find where your object was and go back and update the download. Easier to search than these forums. Easier for non-forum users to have a chance to find objects (as only a tiny fraction of tS users actually come here to the forums).

So TurboSquid can be a great central repository that would avoid people having to look through one place for one thing, another place for something else, etc ;)

Tutbosquid page opens with no comment at all, just the plugin gets displayed. You have to explicitely click at every plugin to find out what it does. And at the moment there are 6 plugins available :D

I made a little link list for what is available for the Workspace a while ago because i have searched one time too often for what i need. Maybe useful for one or another too :)

Yep this is true!
How fitting that I uploaded my first RsScn to TurboSquid prior to this thread being created.

As you can see, we can find very interesting links for Ts (as Tiles work). You can save this link (there are many other things to discover). In a few days, this link will disappear like all the other in the archives.

The subject of this thread is whether it is possible to create a sticky without the possibility to post comments (to keep clean). Only an explanation with a link. A summary of the best links for TS. A kind of "bible for TS" accessible FROM this forum. This would be very useful for users.

This sticky does not seem to interest many people .They say that there are links everywhere, yet as soon as a useful link is posted, everyone is enthusiastic. I have difficulty understanding. This would not be nice to have all these links together?

TS workspace is a good soft but not finished. so it is clogged with bricks (RsObj) from all sides. The problem is that I do not have the time and inclination to put patch everywhere. that is why I prefer to stay on the model side, pending a final workspace (?)

I prefer to travel in an old car instead of spending my time to repair the last model left the factory. I understand that some like to spend their lives in a garage. Everyone does what he pleases. I like programming before, now I prefer to create beautiful things. :)

The problem isnt finding the plugins the problem is that everytime you have to

start TS from default mode the plugs are no longer loaded and your starting

basicaly from scratch.Plus theres a plugin for every feature that should normally be a basic feature of a standard program...

I would wish the programers of TS 8 would incorporate most of these features into the new version...;)

I wish for the same, but until than... is there anyway to have a menu with these in it, not a library but something that makes the LE less cluttered and easy to get to? I have a bunch of scripts that are so commonly used, but they are ackward to work with...

Any ideas?

? Rayman you make it sound like one has to start tS from default mode all the time - I think I've only needed to do it once!

Also I keep all my plug-ins in the same library folder so they are easy enough to reinstall as needed.

I've tried a lot of them out but so far the only one I continue to use consistently is the LE navigator. I used the Excelent Stienies Locking Widget for a long time but after doing Jacks Organic Modeling course I found that I actually prefer the default widget now that I'm accustomed to it.

I do agree with Marcel however - a sticky such as he suggests would be great.
