Many years ago I used a program called TruV. I also purchased their (almost) real time viewer. Using a paint program I could paint textures and view it on the model at the same time. Well they refuse to give me an activation number after a reinstall so I need to buy something else. (Texturetools won't reply to any emails so buyer beware!)
Deep Paint or Deep UV doesn't support Truespace.
Is there a way for me to use a paint program and paint an object in real time? So that I can view the results as I go.
UVMapper Pro looks good but can it do this?
Any and all suggestions PLEASE?!

Hey Stenie,

UV mapper pro does do a 'sort of' real time effect. I've used it before, the results are not instant but pretty close.

Maybe it will fit your needs but even if it doesnt it's still a damn fine UV mapper prog.

Try this link (http://www.uvmapper.com/tutorials/tutorial_paint.html)

Hope that helps

Steve

Edit

P.S. dont forget the LUVV pluging for exporting purposes.:)

TruV...I think I've used that...but an old version that triangulates the model. Not good when working with SubDiv.

I like UVcow, but it's only for unwrapping, not realtime painting.

ZBrush however allows you to paint in 3D, all in realtime. Rather expensive though since it's primary function is 3D sculpting so I'm not sure it's what you're looking for.

Also, it's a standalone software and you need to use the free LUUV OBJect import/export...

And I still havn't figured out how to get my model from tS to ZBrush and back to tS without affecting it's scale, rotation...

(So timewise it sorta balances out. Easy to sculpt and texture....but a pain to manually fix the object when reimported)

ZBrush is a fun software though, even if it's the strangest I've ever worked with ! ;)

Can I help? :)

Normally this shouldn't be a problem.

Check the Luuv settings with a right-click at the icon.

At Import Options "Auto Scale" should be deactivated.

There I do most of my work with SILO I transfer much between tS and SILO and I have no problems with orientation of the objects. I tested it with Zbrush too and also here no problem, so it should work ;)

Thanks for the tip, I'll try that. :)

Any idea of what import/export settings to use in ZBrush?

I think I use the standart settings. At least I can't remember that I have changed anything.
