Ok...Here's a VRT question that's been puzzling me a bit...
Should the VRT clock read two hours or three hours ahead of a clock in the eastern time zone? My clock says 2 hours, but a friend's says three (we both live in the eastern time zone). I vaguely remember in the past seeing my VRT clock 3 hours ahead of my local time, but for ages it's only been 2 hours. My system is set to adjust for Daylight Savings Time automatically, if that makes any difference. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? I'm running Windows 98, first edition. Thanks in advance. don't know if this will help any......but VRT doesn't acknowledge daylight savings time
:)....that might be why :) Muggie :) [View Quote] kalliopyJun 23, 2000, 1:01am
Just got a message from my friend to tell me that there was a problem
with her clock, so the issue is apparently solved...thanks. -- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 To reply via e-mail, please remove *NOSPAM* from my e-mail address. goober kingJun 23, 2000, 1:01am
The problem is that in VRT, there is no daylight savings time. So while
right now it's 10PM EDT, it's 12AM VRT. But when it's 10PM EST in the Fall, it's now 1AM VRT. That's where the 3 hour vs. 2 hour discrepancy comes from. Hope that explains it. :) -- Goober King Hopes he doesn't have his EDT and his EST mixed up... rar1 at acsu.buffalo.edu goober kingJun 24, 2000, 3:37pm
whoa... what're the odds of four different people posting at the exact
same time? *boggle* -- Goober King Only in AW, I guess... http://lavender.fortunecity.com/heat/318/index.html agent1Jun 24, 2000, 6:57pm
Most likely the same as the moderator approving them all at the same time
I'd guess :) -Agent1 [View Quote] timothy gregoryJun 25, 2000, 2:34am
if you look carefully at the dates/times listed in each message, you'll
notice that they appear to be sent a few minutes apart, and then the moderator apperently sent them thru at the same time, probably the next morning [View Quote] > whoa... what're the odds of four different people posting at the exact > same time? *boggle* > -- > Goober King > Only in AW, I guess... > http://lavender.fortunecity.com/heat/318/index.html |
