Eastern Pennsylvania here. Thanks hon. We'll be ok here. Only minor
flooding, some wind, power outtages and a ton of rain. But I'm worried about our AW friends south of here along the coastline of Delaware, Virginia and North Carolina. Also concerned about AW folks who live near easily flooded areas such as valleys or rivers or creeks. Although some of us don't think of rain as a life threatening issue,....... if a creek overflows its banks, the current is powerful enough to carry a car downstream, not to mention take out the foundations of a house next to it. Seen both happen and it ain't pretty. Virginia and North Carolina have beautiful mountains where people will be safer, however water usually drains down towards the valleys below, creating rivers that werent' there to begin with and mudslides too. So, there really isn't a safe place during a hurricane. Cept maybe an attic accompanied by a sturdy boat, some food and water and a laptop and cell phone just in case. hehehe. Hopefully nothing like that will happen to anyone. Thank God its no longer a Cat 5. I just hope people use common sense when deciding to stay or go and while traveling. ;-") [View Quote] brockSep 18, 2003, 9:19pm
