As I was looking through web server logs the other day to see who's visiting
my site, I happened to discover a browser agent string that contained the
following URL:

http://www.nameprotect.com/botinfo.html

I don't host any mp3's or attempt to advertise myself as another company, so
I'm not worried about being tagged for copyright violations, but it does
seem a little disconcerting. Now not only do we have to worry about humans
from organizations like the RIAA spying on us, we also have to worry about
bots that add up the words on a page and calculate a total. Imagine a bot
like this automatically issuing thousands of subponeas simply because
someone programmed it to recognize a company's name used a certain way on
webpages.

Another reason why copyright law is broken....

Can you see which URL this request came from?

Here are some people (or bots) trying to find
vulnerabilities btw. :

Deny from 137.229.12.23
Deny from 212.172.64.100
Deny from 24.26.196.111
Deny from 64.121.10.181

(entries for the root .htaccess on Apache servers)
