After searching for hours to find a possible fix, I stumbled upon this file:

Any pro's out there think this may be the fix to my problem?

ORIGIONAL POST:
In AWTeen 8.49N 10.75W 0.10a 29
I Encountered this error:

Note the weird black box surrounding the fridge object.
It seems to do this on other objects also.

It certainly looks like it wouldn't hurt, Brock. Usually those types of
visual anomalies are caused by a lack of video RAM, but since you have a
GF4 card, that isn't the case. Like you stated in your previous thread
on this issue, it only happens in DX 8.x mode in AW. Doesn't that link
say that the fix works for DX 8.x? I know I had an old GF card with an
AMD proc and it would crash when using AW without a registry fix (either
by Microsoft or AMD). So, in short, yes...try what that post says and
report back to us.

It works, Direct 3D 8 mode runs properly with that fix installed. Everyone
having the problem stated above please download and install the fix, take a
system restore before doing so like i did, just to be sure. But i didn't
need it anyway

Also, I think it is only on the Windows XP version of DX 8 because my
brother (who was using Win98 then) didn't have that bug. I noticed it awhile
ago and since I had only first noticed it once 3.3 came out, I thought it
was an AW bug.
