Midis sound like shit. Wavs have a handy dandy click after each play. Same
with MP3. Just ran all 3 systems through WMP update, it worsened midi
playback and changed click to a pop. Come ON Roland, you can do better than
this, in fact, you did LAST version.

Getting so pissed off with this that I forgot to list the sound boards I

I don't know about the Santa Cruz... but that SB Live Value... wasn't hte
"value" part the sacrificing of the wav table midi synth and other features
to keep the price down? I have an SB Live! regular card and the midis sound
as good as they did on 3.1. I don't think the older cards had very good
midi definitions on them either.

*shrug* I never noticed a single difference between the Value and the
Platinum, other than software package. I think the Value is just OEM and
Plat is retail :)

Of course, I could be wrong.

I read in an article somewhere that the Value sacrificed some features. And
I don't have the platinum. I didn't want my only remaning drive bay taken
up by that sound control thingy... Pardon me for not using technical terms!

It was the only size they had. I wanted one with a fruity-green mac wannabe
case, but all I got was a blue one.
