A command like create name p1, portal p2 could make a portal called p1 that
links to p2. A portal would basically be a seemless teleport. You would see
what you would see as though you were at the destination portal. Something
like in WorldsPlayer

Oh yea I remember that

(i think this is what he means)

A guy built this thing that circled round different worlds (and one showed
the enterprise) where you could see and walk straight through a portal into
somewhere else.

.... How could it always see this "enterprise"? Was there some sort of
vlahurg magic? Perhaps a voodoo spell? Or did the cast of the... er, I
mean "crew" ;) of this "enterprise" just not notice a rather large object
following them acting as the other gate?

Wrong, it was a group of Jem'Hadar in the Gamma Quadrant building it, same kind of
portal though.
