Sound distance (Wishlist)
Sound distance // WishlistxeroFeb 13, 2001, 8:20pm
In aw3.1 when you get far away from a midi/mp3/wav it starts to fade out,
maybe on 3.2 it would be cool if you could set this distance in the command but it would be limited in world options of course, or if maxed out, could be used to play through the entire world. Such as create sound www.blahblah.com/blah.mp3 distance=20 or distance=world for the whole world. Just a idea. -- -Xero IM: o0 Xero xero at darkvapor.com http://www.darkvapor.com sw comitFeb 13, 2001, 10:37pm
I had that idea too, or mabey just turning off fading completely. I liked
listening to midis while I built, but now they fade when I get too far and it's annoying...gotta make extra speakers. Also, mabey you could do that too light too. For example, turning on intensity, so light gets more powerful when you get closer. j b e l lFeb 13, 2001, 11:29pm
actually the light does.. and there is also a brightness command.. but that
command is limited depending on what the world owner set the max to.. -- J B E L L http://platinum.awjbell.com G O I N G P L A T I N U M [View Quote] sw comitFeb 14, 2001, 2:29am
Yes but it doesn't fade smooth enough. It's kinda hard to see, but it only
seems to start fading around .5 meters of it's edge, and that could just be the objects diffuse. j b e l lFeb 14, 2001, 3:08am
you can change the brightness (distance) of the light source.. i see what
you mean by fading.. but i think that has a lot to do with the vertices of the object that it's fading against.. -- J B E L L http://platinum.awjbell.com G O I N G P L A T I N U M [View Quote] j b e l lFeb 14, 2001, 1:31pm

Yeah I'd like to either do that or be able to just turn off fading
