Caretaker recognition... (Bots)

Caretaker recognition... // Bots

How do I get my x1s to recognize all world caretakers as their boss/owners?
I have set the Preferences to allow first owners (I assume that's the
caretakers) but they still don't seem to recognize AerHawk when being told
to follow/join/etc by him. How do I get them to know he is a caretaker /
owner just as I am? Thanks...

'Owners' are of the bot. This does not mean world owners. For example if
you log a bot into AW (the world), the 'owner' is the citizen no. it is
logged on to (and not AWLD, for example).

Can also say (botname) obey (person)
e.g. X1 obey John

After your citizen number in the login textbox put a comma and his citizen
number. He will become a first owner. You don't need to have his ppw to log
the bot in.

i.e. where it says login if your citnum is 123456 and his is 234567

type '123456,234567' and all you need in the password box is the first
citnum's ppw

Thank you both, it seems my problem was adding his cit to the main startup
screen ... got that fixed, although I do see on the page that the second
owner may not have all the rights of the first. Thanks again...

LNH,

The AW SDK does not allow bots to see who is caretaker or not, except
in one case:
the bot is caretaker with citnum X, and someone else present also is
citnum X or wears citnum X privs. So there is no automatic way for
bots to know who is caretaker, except for its own cit if the bot is
caretaker.

If you know the citnums of caretakers, follow zeofatex's instruction.

Please note that xelagot does NOT recognise privs when talking of
ownership, only login cits. The reason is for security, because
owners have a vast range of functions at their disposal which could
harm if misused.

Also I can't seem to have the bot accept more than one owner in the
Ownership block thing, I uncheck that (Bot / Ownership Block / Release &
Unblock) and tell it to allow but when I log the bot off she goes back into
block mode not allowing more owners ... not sure why it's doing that. Anyway
it seems my hubby can tell them what to do now so I did get that fixed, not
sure how that area of Ownership Block works or why it's reverting back to
Block 2nd Ownership even though I've unchecked that. Or do I need to allow
second ownership? Are you saying that hubby is 1st owner as long as his cit
is beside mine in the main login screen?

Thanks Alex, I did actually figure the extra cit number part by reading your
pages. Just not sure if this makes him 1st owner as I or if he's considered
a second owner. And, not sure if he's a second owner why that section I
mentioned in the prev post won't allow me to allow 2nd owners. I don't care
really, as long as my husband gets the same rights I do it matters not to me
how to get that ... I just want to understand how to get him the same rights
I have.

Log into the universe first, ownership block works in side each
universe differently. I may want to disable that when bots are not
logged in, it is confusing even for me :)

Second owner can only be appointed inside a world using a verbal
command, and is for limited time. All cits on the permanent list are
first owners. The first one on the list is login owner. Login owner
has a few more rights than other first owners, mostly related to
voiding or reentering the bot and loading/executing scripts.

In my previous post, I said "block" was per universe. I made a
mistake: block ownership is related to this temporary 2nd owner.

What i just said below is crap, it applies to listening restricted,
not to block ownership!

Who made this bot?
