Demeter Request/Suggestion (Bots)
Demeter Request/Suggestion // Bots
Mar 27, 2003, 12:47am
Say you want to build a public mountaintop city in AWTeen without giving
your ppw. It isn't possible (I dont think). Just a suggestion, to be able to
define whether public can build on the terrain. like maybe 3 options: 1)
allow the public to build on and edit the terrain 2) allow the public to
only build on terrain and not edit 3) allow only you to build and change
terrain
This would be useful, obviously for the first example i mentioned, but also
for if you want to specify, as in a lot, a certain amount of area where
someone can change the terrain. Also perhaps the ability to limit how high
the public can go? I realize some of this may or may not be currently
possible, but just telling ideas. Thanks for readin.

Demeter works with Registry so you can't have people build on it.

Thats kinda a dumb suggestion... since its registry... maybe add
multi-people build projects for the registry to the wishlist for AW before
requesting this :-)
*wink*

I do believe dlp anne already wished for, at least somethin like that
(wishlist, "terrain editing rights")

well, it could potentially work with only terrain, but the fact that it
works with terrain markers pretty much elimitates the possibility of public
terrain other than what the CT's actually build. However, a reason that it
was done with makers, is that it prevents vandalism, which you would
immediately and horribly suffer should you build a mountain top village with
public terrain.
I have dealt with too many people who complain about vandalism because they
didn't cover their land, this would just be an extention of that... and
quite a pain to all involved... at least number 1
As for 2, you already do that.... everywhere you build in a 3.3 world is
building on terrain. Only demeter edits terrain so that another user cannot
build on it. If a CT or another bot edited the terrain without markers like
that, it would be quite easy to build on the terrain without editing it.
With 3, become the CT of a world, and only you can edit that, and you can
make it so that only you can build on it

No worries about that jstone, ive owned and been part owner of many worlds.
I really just wanted the feature to go on demeter. Then again, and sounds
like a lot of people don't want this anyway, so i guess you can just forget
this topic :)

demeter is a much more efficent way of doing it than AW's until you can
select multiple cells
