Creating a nice .RWX browser... // Bots

Ananas/Andras,

I've been looking for a good .RWX browser, but the only thing I've found was
the RWXLook/Mod viewer (that I've been unable to get to work). I stumbled
across a nice file browser on the Internet, it allows you to quickly browse
..jpg, .gif, as well as .cob files in a nice browser window. (So you can
easily view files on your local machine).

Only problem is that it does not support .rwx files. I contacted the author
of the program (Yarp), and he said he may be willing to add .rwx support. I
really don't know much about .rwx, but I know that you wrote a browser
(rwxmod) that I can't seem to get working (because it can't find the
textures). But I was wondering (since you're familiar with .rwx) if you
could help "Yarp" create a plugin for his browser that will support AW .rwx
files.

This way people can download his free browser, and view .rwx files in a
window (along with .jpg, .gif, .cob, etc.) just like a file explorer.

If anyone knows of a browser out there that has this type of functionality,
please let me know. But I've looked everywhere and I haven't been able to
find a good browser/viewer. Especially not one as good as this one.

If you'd be interested in such a browser, please send Yarp an E-mail letting
him know that you'd appreciate his willingness to add AW .rwx support to his
great browser.

Yarp's e-mail address is: yarp at senosoft.com

the textures for use with rwxmod have to be in .bmp format

Unfortunately neither of us wrote the RWXMod. The author, Dataman, lost the sourcecode of the program and he is not willing to work on it any more.
You have to convert the textures to BMP and store it in the folder "textures" on the same level your RWX files are (or edit the options to specify the texture path).
Several new RWX files won't play in RWXMod due to the new "pseudo" RWX commands introduced by AW (if they are not prefixed with #! character sequence) causing the RWXMod just simply crash :(
