Caution for bot producers // Sdkstrike rapierApr 6, 2005, 1:35am
Hi all,
Just to warn you - I have been picking up some pretty strange hits on my website tracker from web searches that seem to be about our bots. I have recently seen queries such as 'hack magsbot' and 'xelagot localhost'. The latest 'hack magsbot' came from a firefox user. IP Address: 65.41.4*.*** Country: United States Region: Pennsylvania City: Hanover ISP: Sprint Dsl Network Smells like someone trying to get into a uni running on the local IP. -- - Mark Randall http://zetech.swehli.com r i c h a r dApr 7, 2005, 11:12pm
What makes me wonder is why somone would need to google localhost, I mean
even if they wanted to it doesn't take a rocket scientist to enter localhost in the universe host box, Plus do people really think that applications for AW would have pages on how to hack them? I mean ok you'll get pages telling you how to hack windows but windows has a bit of a larger user base then AW. The other thing that I wonder is how come the words localhost and hack seem to bring up your page in the search results strike ;) highflierApr 8, 2005, 12:41am
So what does this mean for us normal bot users SR? I know you said bot
producers but how could this effect just a normal bot user? strike rapierApr 8, 2005, 7:18am
Nothing at all really, this is just a newsgroup for actual sdk coders.
