This is weird.. i got a free object from a website..
everytime i use the object.. a shell to a house.. the browser just closes..
re-installed the browser and still same thing..
any ideas?
i have uploaded the object to
http://www.airtsandcrafts.co.uk/aw/sc-cot3-shell.zip
could be a bug in the browser or object.. but surely you should get an error
message and not a termination... ;)

Actually, if an object is corrupt, it can crash the browser without an
error. It's good you at least tracked down which object it was. If you keep
crashing before you can delete the object from your world, just remove it
from the object path and then you can go in and delete the place holder
that's left.

Looking at the rwx, I don't see anything too much out of place, but I have
to admit, I've never seen the term "quadext" used before.

Well I dunno if it would cause crashing, but this is a very dirty object.
That is, how efficient it was scripted. I ran it through a cleaner -
accutrans, and slimmed it down from 454k characters to 10k characters, a 91%
shrink. Check your tgrams in AW ;)

I think the quadext is just something old from RW 2.x - on
http://www.activeworlds.com/help/aw41/document.php?/rwx_quad says it can be
used either way :O RWModeler loads it fine apparently

I learned something today then. Thank you :)

I'd be curious to know if the cleanup by Comit makes it so the object works
now.

Objects that are in binary COB / RWX mode are liable to cause crash errors
if they are corrupted.

This is because no validation is likely carried out on things such as
structure length tables.
