Any way to autostart a world server? (Community)
Any way to autostart a world server? // Communitylady nighthawkJun 4, 2006, 7:13pm
Rather than manually telling it to start I'd like to be able to have the
server autorestart if it's disconnected ... any way to do that? For instance, we run three worlds, I have the server and so does sista and we have all three worlds listed on each of our servers. But say hers being the primary server goes off ... any way for mine to detect the worlds aren't running and autostart them? This would be great, that way if for some reason her server stops (say due to a dropped internet connection) my server will pick the worlds up! LNH mauzJun 5, 2006, 2:47pm

You could try installing it as a service, see Andras's instructions under
http://mauz.info/worldrunning.html#running If you don't mind Windows trying to restart the service all the time and usually failing because the worlds are already running elsewhere. Unless your sister also sets hers as a service that starts a program upon service failure that e.g. sends you an email. Except what if hers failed because her computer went offline, and... Eh this is starting to sound like a huge software project ;) Better suggestions? -- Mauz http://mauz.info |
