I See All But The Obvious (Community)
I See All But The Obvious // CommunityshalimarSep 1, 2005, 3:37pm
Having been away from NG's for a little while, I peeked in to see if there
might be some news in here about any VR friends who may be affected by the devastation on the Gulf Coast. I see one inquiry, no answers and no discussion. Is this because all are riveted to their TV sets? Because all are weary of the 24/7 coverage? Or is it that it's all so overwhelming there is simply nothing to say? It's a bit like not talking about the huge purple dinosaur in your living room! You KNOW everyone is thinking about it.....but no one says a word. So please indulge me while I ask..... Would you send a contribution to the American Red Cross or the relief agency of your choice today? Would you take just 60 seconds of your busy day and say a prayer or meditate on the heart wrenching circumstances one other person might be in for that moment? Is there anything that we, as a "community", albeit virtually real, might do to help? Could we have a discussion thread on this, please? I have 3 VR friends who lived in New Orleans. I have no idea where they are, how they fared or even if they are still alive. Sometimes......discussion can be the most supportive tool we have :) Thanks! (Provided by Hubert Louden, Louisville, KY. Thanks Hubert!) God bless America again You see all the trouble that she's in Wash her pretty face, dry her eyes and then God bless America again Dear God, I sure do wish you could bless America again Well, you know, just like they did way back when it all began you know, you surely blessed it once and we just took it for granted and never bothered to ask again So just hold her hand God, that's all And if she should stumble, Please don't let her fall You know God, Theres so much I don't understand About what I read and hear is wrong in America But I suppose if you don't have a lot of learnin' There's so much you can't undertand Ahh but let me say this God she's like a mother to me And everything I am or ever hope to be I owe it to You and to her God bless America again You see all the trouble that she's in Wash her pretty face, dry her eyes and then God bless America again . |
