Yeah I Thought Aw Might Take SOME Responsiablites.... I Had Someone Hack
into
a World.. Stole A Object... Uploaded it to MY FTP
Which I gave that person my Pwd..I know.. I trusted this person.. he was
a Dear Friend to me.. or so I thought...and I Even Had Chat Log to Prove he
addmited to doing this.. but.. wether it was done to me or someone else
it,s Wrong...... Hacking is a Low Blow to all us AW CIT,s that Works our
Tails to create Great Enivorments and to Have ppl like This come along , and
Could Have... Made me Loose my Cit and Worlds...I had Email JP About this
too..Sent the Chat Log into AW Even
and Like Most Emails from the ppl that We are Suppose to be Able to
Depends up on
More Less said:.. So... What are we to do?
ppfff.....
and This Cost us $ 69:95 a year
hmm.. Makes me Wonder Why Kind of Enviroments AW themselfs let off

ppfff...

How can AWI be held responsible for someone hacking into your world server.
The fault lies within your servers security, not AW!. And from the sounds of
it, you gave this "hacker" your PW? Then, the fault therin lies in your own
security perhaps?

As far as people "hacking" models from others OPs, there again, the onus of
security is on the owner of that server or object path, why don't they
password protect the models? If someone stole from my OPs, it would be my
fault, not theirs nor AWIs for simply walking in my open door. And it isn't
really "hacking" to simply type in the url to your models and download them,
if you leave that path open, then it is surely going to be used. And sure,
passwords can be broken, but at least they won't be so easily attainable and
like my pappa used to say, "keeps the honest crooks honest"...why blame AWI
for something that only you, the OP Host, can stop?

I suggest perhaps tightening up your security measures, and renewing them
frequently, this is the only way to keep those "theives" out. We all hate
theives and I agree with the concern there, but only we the users can stop
that, AWI can do nothing in respect to our personal security precautions.

Just my opinion of course :)

I agree with all you say John... it wasn,t my world that hacked into too..
just the Thought of it
eats me up.....and the fact that it was uploaded to MY FTP... Could have
cost me my cit and Worlds...and the Most Important FACT is....This Person
was My best Friend for such a long time.. I think Hackers Need to be Bannd
From Aw Permittly
I dont, Think AW is Responible for Hackers... but I think if they can prove
that a person did it
they Should be Banned....

No you couldent.

You cannot have your Active Worlds Account revoked for anything you host on
servers etc, unless of course you happen to be training terrorists in an
Al-Queda world in the AW universe.

Has to be a violation inside AW.
