I get these all the time from people imitating banks I don't even have
accounts with. The said fact is that some people do give out their
information and fall for these scams.

There was an interesting presentation about ID theft and the Internet on
C-SPAN2 today, BTW. :)

Being the evil guy that I am, I would have replied with a fake CC # etc
just to waste their time since they wasted mine :)

Well the thing that cracked me up the most is that Yahoo has no interest
whatsoever in my CC #!!! I don't pay for anything with them. I don't have
any kind of "paypal" acct on there or whatever they call it. I never
purchased anything thru them whatsoever.

I did, however, forward it to security at yahoo and also to a federal
organization that investigates ID theft and attempts at it. So, we'll see
what they have to say.

Interesting thing about whatever code they used... when I copied and pasted
it onto notepad I got these funky looking symbol thingies in the middle of
most of the words, making it very difficult to read. Is that what they refer
to as Uni-code?

I always try and do that when I get those things, but usually by the
time I check my email the guys have already got enough people's details
and shut down the site.
