[View Quote] Arent these gmail invites given to anyone and everyone who visits or
registers at Google? Ive received maybe 20-30, but I just delete them. I
thought it was basically just another marketing gimic to get people signed
up to Google's renditon of webmail accounts.

not too sure, but i always thought you can't actually get an account, unless
you're invited. well, other then the first few people to get accounts i
guess.

[View Quote] Hmmmm, not sure why or how one gets them, I thought everyone would have
gotten them, maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to disregard them. :(

Best marketing plot ever,

a top-of-the-line exclusive beta product, no need to advertise because your
customers go saying how exclusive it is to make themselves look good.
