Virus warning! // CommunityandrasDec 15, 2004, 8:14am
An old virus is masquerading itself as some AW related data.
<http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=PE_FUNLOVE.4099&VSect=T> <http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/bridex.shtml> It is appeared lately as "Galery Avatars.zip" attachment. This particular email I received is from the KC area from a hotspot (wireless internet access point): ---------------- Received: from BECKY (wirelessd.show-me.net [65.171.211.248]) by andras.net (mail.andras.net [194.152.129.221]) (MDaemon.PRO.v6.8.5.R) with ESMTP id 63-md50000000021.tmp for <andrass9 at andras.net>; Wed, 15 Dec 2004 09:48:20 +0100 Message-ID: <525036c8.5b615206 at BECKY> From: <canimationsubmission at rats2u.com> ---------------- Only open attachments from users you trust and you expect to receive some file!! -- Andras "It's MY computer" (tm Steve Gibson) themaskDec 15, 2004, 5:38pm
Kentucky eh? Smells like M A T T at a wireless point, spamming. Good
idea, but not good enough. -- Signed, TheMask :: Owner of Delusional-Minds Hosting :: Free world hosting.. Just a T-Gram will do it. themaskDec 15, 2004, 6:12pm
Wardriving is fun, but only if the wireless point has higher speeds then
a regular cable :] -- Signed, TheMask :: Owner of Delusional-Minds Hosting :: Free world hosting.. Just a T-Gram will do it. the j0k3r ssDec 15, 2004, 7:16pm
only reason it is used really is not to get caught , or like here when you
have a download limit you use a companys T1 line to the end of the street :) johnfDec 15, 2004, 8:36pm
He hasn't been terrorising AW for ages and he still gets a mention.... lol!
Mainly from newbies "Oh AW went down - it must be M A T T", etc. John [View Quote] king small guyDec 15, 2004, 9:27pm
