How come when you see someone when you mute em but don't hear em talk. // CommunitycarlbanksJun 6, 2002, 12:11am
Whenever I mute ssomeone on sight I don't hear em but when they start
talking their name shows up but their not talking. and it says <muted> for a few then dissappears and you can't hear em just see their name. Why does it do this? carlbanksJun 6, 2002, 12:16am

Because that's what mute has always done. Whenever someone muted says
something, it displays "<muted>" instead of what they actually said. One way to get rid of this is to turn off the "Display chat about avatars" option (can't remember where it is in Settings). Not sure if that will keep the name from appearing when they first speak, but at least you won't see "<muted>"... Oh, and for future reference, try and be a little more concise with your Subject titles. You can expound on the Subject in the body of the message (that's what it's for!).
