Help! I've just downloaded and installed AW3.3!!! Boy, was I looking
forward to it! :((

I'm having trouble connecting:

When I try to get into my own world, Amberlin--hosted remotely by
Belfalest-- I get the following error --details:

Active Worlds Browser attempted to read from memory that does not exist. It
may be using an uninitialized variable, or it may be attempting to access
memory after having freed it.

At first I thought it may be because Bel hasn't had a chance to install the
new server yet. But when I try to get in anywhere else, I get the following
message with a blank screen:

I log on, then I click on skip to avoid my being kicked out of my own
world--home--(I know I won't see anyone or do building to keep, but I
thought if I could just jump to another world and temporarily mark that as
home...well....) Anyway I skip and no matter where I go, I get the
following message:

Immigration Officer: Sorry, there is no cached information available for the
world "amberlin"

So, now what do I do?
Help!!!!

uninstall 3.3 and re-install 3.2 for now

How do I install 3.3? Then what do I do? Is anybody else haviing trouble?

Thanks. But I was hoping for a solution so that I may try out the new
version!

Oh, I don't think I can uninstall 3.3! At least as far as the contact list
goes. The help file says that once you install 3.3, you can't go back!

it says:
One final important note: once your contact list has been upgraded to the
3.3 format, it is not possible to go back to the old 3.2 format. In
particular, this means that if you set up a contact list using 3.3, the
options you set for it will still be in effect even if you go back to 3.2.

notice the last sentence, its possible to go back to 3.2
ur old contact list is saved as "contacts.txt.sav"
so u could re-install 3.2 and put that file in as contacts.txt
maybe u will not be able to use ur contact list anymore in 3.2 then
but u can at least get into AW till the 3.3 prob is solved
so it would be just temporary....

Thanks for all your help! Kellie from AW techsupport suggested I download
the file from the webpage and try again--I did and it still shut me out!

I looked to see if I had AW3.2 somewhere, but I fouind I only had 2.2 and
3.1. Went to the AW website and found that they had only 3.3 listed under
downloads. Any more suggestions??

Hopefully--fingers crossed--somebody somewhere will come up with the
solution within the next few days. I did send my install log to Kellie,
btw. She's quite a gal!

Thanks so much! I found 3.2 in a roundabout way on the website. I then
tried to load it over 3.3, but still had problems. Just did a clean
install.....AND NOW I'M BACK!!!!!!!

Come visit me in Amberlin some time..and we'll sit around the campfire
roasting marshmallows!

Hi everybody!

Well the problem of 3.3 is solved! My host, Belfalest, had 9 9 9 do a
debugging of my files. It turned out there were 2 lines in my avatars.zip
that had to be changed (I have yet to hear which ones they were.) But,
anyway, I tried installing 3.3 and it went off without a hitch!!!

Again, thanks to everybody who have been kind enough to help me with this
mess!

cit (INCLUDING my 3DHP) doesn't expire until February of NEXT NEAR!!!!

SUPPORT - PLEASE tell me this is a glitch in the interface between AW 3.3
and the IO...
