Being fairly new to AW, and a new world owner, I am not going to get into
any kind of technical p_ssing contest over how objects, textures, and models may be copied or shared or what have you. I will say this however. Every time I have introduced a new avatar or model or texture into my world - a world that is hosted by Heartfall and a world where I rent the OP from Heartfall - I am always asked to furnish the appropriate "readme.txt" files making sure that I have acquired proper licensing for the items. Also, when purchasing avatars from other avatar creators I have been asked who runs my world. It seems the creators have had trouble with texture sharing among some of the less than upstanding citizens who provide such services as world and path hosting. With each and every such query the creators have always responded with a reply similar to, "Ahhh... no need to worry about Heartfall sharing my textures. You may load my avatar in your world." when I have indicated that Heartfall is my world / path host. I may be naive, but it sounds as though Lars and his company, Heartfall, have established quite an outstanding reputation of integrity and fair business practices. Whomever is starting all this raucus might consider following such a fine example. [View Quote] |
