anyone writing an AW-based tale?

Jan 13, 2000, 11:17am
Howdy all:)
Last year I had a brainstorming session and figured out how the AW
object creation and animation routines might be turned into a "magic
system" for an AW-based fantasy tale. The details and a sample scenario
showing it in use by characters is up for perusal at:
http://web.one.net.au/~conover/Kpages/ruff2.htm -- scroll down to find
the piece called "Working Notes for a Magic System Based on AW's
Animation Commands"

If anyone wants to adopt or adapt this, let me know -- you're welcome to
it:) Due to concerns with plagiarism I'm taking my original writings
offline, so am looking for "homes" for projects I won't get around to
completing.

There's the start of an illustrated, more obviously AW parody up at:
http://web.one.net.au/~conover/Kpages/thinlyd1.htm
If someone wants to try taking this one on, I'll be happy to pass on the
ideas behind it, hehe...

An enjoyable read, GK!&nbsp; When's Chapter 3 gonna be ready!?
<br>How about taking your crew thru some known-and-named AW landmarks?&nbsp;
There are so many places to get in trouble in out there, and it's good
fun to have familiar haunts pop up :)

No graphics downloading

Might be a coincidence, but we had the same problem recently -- several
weeks ago graphics stopped downloading in all worlds visited.&nbsp; Nothing
else had happened to tie in with this on our end -- cache is routinely
cleaned and kept under control (we a long-time AW users), no corrupt objects
were present anywhere.&nbsp; And -- no amount of cache cleaning, world
deleting or other modifying the AW files solved it.
<p>In the end I had to uninstall AW and download a fresh copy of the browser
:(
