It's that time again! We will be celebrating Active Worlds 7th annual
Festival! Beginning June 28th, in the world AWCC, and running through June
30th. Events include building contests, trivia, paintball, scavenger hunts
and more!

This year's theme is Celebrate Community. We dedicate this Festival to you,
the community, who has given so much Active Worlds the wonderful place it is
today!

The prizes this year are:

1st Prize- P20/10 World for 6 months or a 2 month extension to world of your
choice
2nd Prize- P10/5 world for 3 months or a 1 month extension to world of your
choice
3rd Prize- 6 month citizenship extension
4th Prize- Active Worlds T-Shirt

In addition, this year, each group that hosts an event will be entered into
a drawing... the winner will receive a P20/10 World for 6 months or a 2
month extension to world of their choice!!! We are also proud to announce..
the AWEC Festival 2002 Award, which will recognize the best event for this
years Festival! Good luck to all event holders!

Hello all!

It's that time again. AW Festival is just around the corner. July 11th -
13th. This year's theme is "Diversity". The theme encompasses the entire AW
Community, citizens and tourist alike. In honor of this theme, AW Inc has
graciously agreed to allow tourist access to Alpha World for the duration of
Festival! However, tourist building will be disabled. In addition to the
tourist access, AW Inc has given out some WONDERFUL prizes... including a
full years citizenship, a 6 month citizenship, a P20/10 World for 6 months
and MORE!

Now all we need are events! We would like to invite all AW Citizens,
Organizations, Communities and World Owners to participate in this years
festivities. By hosting an event, your name/organization will be put into a
drawing. The lucky winner of the drawing will be awarded a prize! It's that
simple. Some past events included building contests, trivia games and tours.

Ya know.. I have to thank you for that link. I remember listening to that
song with my dad when I was a lil kid... I had totally forgotten that movie
till just now. The song is not what I would jam to now.. but when I was 4, I
thought it was cool! lol In fact I think my dad had it on a tape.. and when
we went on vacations, I would practice my "trucker" talk. Dad would say it
was a one car convoy. lol.

AWEC WORLD CUP

The AWEC World Cup Competition kicked off August 30th in AWCC world. Based
on the real World Cup, there will be a series of competitions, leading up to
an exciting final game! Want to compete for the illustrious AWEC World Cup
Trophy? Interested in judging a game? If so, please email
awec at awcommunity.org for more information. Just remember, each team will
have three players, and the competition will be the second Friday of each
month. So please contact us now to play on Friday, September 13th at 8pm VRT
in AWCC world! Thank you!

Stand-Up Comedy Night

On Saturday, August 17th, AWEC had its first Stand-Up Comedy Night in AWCC.
Many people showed up to enjoy an afternoon of fun! Among many other things,
Lady Pippin and Alpengeist had engaged in a funny talk about a baseball team
with peculiar names! All in all, the first Comedy night went very well, and
in light of this success, AWEC plans to make Comedy Night a monthly event!
We just need more stand-up comedians, so if you're interested, please email
Nitouche at nitouche at pippin2.com for more information and to schedule an
audition. Remember, you can do a comedy routine with a partner if you like!
So don't be shy, come on up to the stage and make people laugh! Auditions
will be held on Saturday, September 14th at 4pm VRT and the actual
performance will be held the following Saturday, September 21st at 4pm VRT
in the world AWCC. For the exact time and location, see the AWEC Calendar of
Events!

Thank you all for attended the last Stand-Up Comedy Night! We at AWEC hope
to continue to bring you some fun and laugher filled events throughout the
year!

The AWEC Pot of Gold Hunt will start this Saturday, March 15th at 12:01 am
VRT... and continue through Sunday, March 16th, ending at 5pm VRT.
Leprechaun's have been busy hiding over 4600 pots of gold for you to find!
Do you think you can find the hidden gold? Join us for AWEC's first Saint
Patrick's Day Pot of Gold Hunt in AWECHunt world. Take on the avatars of one
of the wee-folk to get into the smaller, harder to reach areas. The world
will be opened up on the day of the hunt.

Hello AW Community,

AW Festival 2004 will kick off July 9th and run through July 11th, and will
mark Activeworlds 9th Anniversary! Our theme is.. "To the Future and
Beyond!". We would like to invite all of you *communities, organizations and
individuals* to participate in this year's festivities.

For a chance at a prize, just participate in various events... winners in
events will be awarded Festival points. The people with the most points, at
the end of Festival, will win! Thank you, AWI for donating such neat prizes!

actually he left on July 15th *he announced his leaving at AW Festival*.. so
not THAT long ago.. but yes.. ray at activeworlds would be the new contact in
his place.

Thanks for posting this.. however it's best to email awec at awcommunity.org if
you see an error... it just makes for a quicker fix. When we add events to
the calendar, we ask that people let us know if their event changes or needs
to be removed. If they don't let us know, we assume it's still an active
event. The last we heard from them... it was to keep it up indefinitely.
