In 1939, five people checked into a glamorous Hollywood hotel never to be seen again.

Now it's 2007. The motors have started back up. The hotel is coming back to life. It's taking you with it to a dimension you've never seen before!

On December 31, 2007, after more than 60 years of waiting, The Hollywood Tower Hotel reopens its doors for the first time. This follows reports of strange elevator behavior from 2001 to 2006.

Pedestrians around the area would see the scarred elevator holes open to reveal an empty elevator, running entirely on its own. This would confuse them, seeing as the hotel had been abandoned, and supposedly haunted, since the mysterious event on October 31, 1939.

Activeworlds citizen GSK is behind the reopening of the hotel. The area has been fitted with an authentic New Year's Eve Ball, and a full Grand Opening light show has been planned, but is the hotel still haunted?

Each time you board that elevator, make sure you hold on tight.
