I'm trying to follow the tutorial "PE Usage-Continent Replacement" on page 915 of the Artist's Guide. I insert the Planet object. I then try to rotate it but it will not move. In fact I can not edit it in any way with the object widget. It will not scale, rotate, or move.

The only way I can edit this object is to right click it and enter point edit mode. However, this changes the shape of the planet. when it is first inserted it is smooth. But after entering point edit the planet becomes faceted. I can perform various facet tasks such as sweeps, loops, etc. but after exiting point edit the planet is still locked in place.

I can insert other objects and they work just fine but the Planet object is locked in place. I first noticed this behavior in Shared Space when I attempted to move a projector light in order to better see an object. The light would not move. I figured this was some setting for this particular light that forced it to be locked in its current position.

Is there some setting that is causing this behavior with the Planet object or is something else causing this?

Thanks Blue, what did you do to fix it? I want to understand what the problem is in case I come across this situation again.

Go inside the object and delete the 'Expanded matrix' and then right click the 'Matrix' and 'Export'. I deleted the 'Main aspect' as well. There is also a tutorial in the Developer's Guide with this planet object, which I had problems with as well.

After you do the above and exit out of the inside of the Planet object you will be able to Move, Rotate, and Scale with the Widget. Okay now right click and expand the Matrix again. You can transform the object with these inputs but not with the Widget. Try it.
