I know I started another WIP thread & it seems like I forgot about it, but it's more I lost interest in that project for the moment. Here's something else I started some time ago & have been looking at again recently.

Some of you may be familiar with the "dock" style toolbar that is used on Macs, well you can get similar progs for Windows as well. The problem is that the icons packaged into/with a lot of apps are only designed to be displayed on the start menu, or whatever, so they're not that big or detailed. This means that when you try to add shortcuts for some progs to a dock they can end up looking rather jaggy. Below is an example of the 1st 1 I made, the original tS6.6 icon on the left, & my version on the right.

The 1 I'm working on ATM is for Mailwasher.

Unfortunately I seem to have lost the latest scene file for this 1, but I guess that gives me the chance to work on some refinements, eh? :)

Hehe, I figured the tS7 1 was your handiwork. :) I managed to extract the 64x64 1 from the tS7.exe ok, which looks pretty good, but I wouldn't say no to a 128x128 - or even a 256x256 if you've got it, thanks.

I'm not going to be making icons for all the progs I have on the dock I use [Y'z Dock], as there are sites for such things & I've managed to find a few of the 1s I want, but there's still a few that I want to do. Some people tend to want to create something really flashy or different from the original, whereas [as you've seen] I prefer to not stray too far from the original.

Pretty sure I got a 300x300 PSD somewhere-leave it with me...;)

Really like your 're-imagined' TS6.6 icon by the way. I should have gone with something like that for TS7with hindsight. Still, all done now...

Cool, thanks. :)

Wow, thanks. :o IIRC, I took the Caligari texture that comes with 6.6 into PSP, enlarged it & then drew over it with a vector wotsit to give me a cleaner outline, then saved that & used that as a template in 6.6. I just drew both halves & swept them, & then had them hovering over a cube. That weird glow in the middle of the 2 leaf halves is [IIRC] a local light just underneath them. Can't remember why I added that though. :)

There's a larger version here (http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alien42/images_to_link_to/tS%20Logo%2002.png) [750x750, 126KB]. If anyone happens to notice the slight amount of green around the edge, that's because it was before I had iPak, & that was the background colour. :)

Aah, shucks..;)

PM me Alien, and I will post it to you-better not post it publically yet as I have not sought approval from Roman. Wouldn't think he would mind though-better to have the proper icon in your workspace than a doctored one...;)

I just emailed you, I'll PM you in a sec with the address I emailed from, as it's different to the 1 associated with my forum account, just incase you're using any kind of spam filtering as well.

Hehe :) Not really doctored, it's the 1 you made [I just extracted it], it's just that they only bundled a 64x64 1 in with the ts7.exe.

D'oh! http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alien42/smilies/slap.gif I could have sworn I replied to you about this, must be my memory going with old age. :o Sorry about that. Yes thanks, I got them [haven't looked at the tP 1 yet]. I didn't think the difference would be very noticeable, as the res of the 1 stored in tS7.exe is only about 1/2 the size they show up as when magnified by Y'z Dock, but it looks quite a bit sharper. Thanks again. :)

Well it was a 320x320 PSD so it should be sharp enough. You'll have to post a screen grab when you are done-I haven't used Stardock (or whatever it's called now) for a few years.

I saved a copy to a .pspimage [PSP9] file & resized it to 256x256. Partly cos I didn't see any point in having it higher, as I tend to make my icons that size, & also because it only comes out to ~128 pixels high in use, & also it smoothed out that ever-so-slightly-jaggy bit on the top left.

You'll have to post a screen grab when you are done
64 [from tS7.exe] on the left, 256 on the right.

There's actually a bunch of different Dock progs, Stardock make ObjectDock in a free & paid for version, but the free 1 doesn't support dual monitors, so I use Y'z Dock (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2790).

Well the credit for that goes to you, all I did was hide the background layer & resize it. :)
