I thought this was cool. Vote for how you think it was made. Mocap or Traditional?

That's so weird, I could swear I saw that vid linked to in a different thread & you mentioning it being keyframed. Man... these painkillers must be stronger than I thought... :o |

I remember him saying it was neither. Are we being being fooled?
Look at the first thread.

Well, I know someone posted a link to the page (http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/Neilpeartair.html) that video came from somewhere, because I still had it in my browser history.
And it was keyframed:
Created and designed by Bobby Standridge:
On a technical note, the video was created with 3D Studio Max R3 and hand keyframed using a video reference of me air-drumming along to the song. Being an older version of the software, the inverse kinematics tended to bog down after a few hundred frames, so I had to break the video down into many (un)manageable pieces. Adobe's Photoshop CS and Premiere Pro played key roles during the compositing and authoring phases.
Look at the first thread.

As to whether Mr Bones has been "having fun" with the editing feature.... I don't know, but I wouldn't rule it out as a possibility. |

Given the stiffness of the movement, I'd say it was rotoscoped, or that the video reference was held-to pretty closely - one or the other. For an example of what I'm referring to, check out the part near the beginning where he grabs the cymbal with one hand and hits it with the stick in the other hand. |
