I know this is going to seem elementary to some; but how do you import a bump map that you create into the material editor? I've been trying to get into creating bump maps lately, and I want to do one for my ammo crate.

Make sure the material editor is fully expanded. Right click on the sphere in the bump channel and select "bump map" from the displacement shaders that pop up. It then lets you select an image as bump map. Simple like that ;)

Assuming you have TS 6, expand the texture editor, under the bump (displacement setting) select bump map, right click in there to navigate to your image. hth

You can also open the image browser and drag the image to the bump material area. :)

OK, here's a test with the Ammo Crate. The first is the regular crate (w/o)the bump-map); and the second has the top bump-mapped the way I want it. Let me know what you think so far.

Yep, bump maps sure make a difference. Looking good Keith.
