Doesn't sound too bad.

A couple of things that were left out of the email (or left unclear):

When is tS7 shipped? After the first payment or after the last payment (important detail here)?

3 equal payments per what? Monthly can be assumed, but it would still be nice to know in the email.

Email says 3 equal payments of $149, then goes on to say $449. 3 x 149 = $447. Which one is it?

Giving this some thought. I have even switched my screen rez to 1280x1024 just to see how it will be for me.

So far, not likin' it...but maybe I could get used to it.

If I didn't upgrade for $299 a month ago, why would I upgrade now for $348 (3 x $116). If I pay for a upgrade, it will be after 7.1 becomes available and I've had time to play around with a TS7 demo.

Well, Bonehead (for some reason I feal guilty calling you that) the payment option does make it a little more doable for those who can budget $150 per month or have a credit card.

My main issue is that if I can commit to paying $150 a month for 3 months, then I should also be able to commit to saving $150 a month for however long it takes to buy any software I want. That is my dilemma with this deal.

I understand what you are saying tho, for me it was $399 and around Christmas time I just didn't have it to spare.

I'd say, don't stress your eyes. Get a better monitor or stick to your preferred resoluton. If you at first glanse don't like the resolution, it might be because your eyes don't like to operate under the burden of it...

I just reviewed the emails sent out.

I sent along a communication suggesting we be more accurate for you regarding time-frame for the equal payments. I also suggested we mention in future email offers, that the order-form will provide exact $ amounts that each installment would be.

Thank you for bringing these items to our attention :)

I am also told that with this plan, it may take a couple of days (over weekend for instance), before staff can enter the order and setup first installment. During regular business hours, the "wait-time" would be much less of course.

Hope this info is helpful.

Man it is chilly up here in Crowsnest Pass today.

Like you Bonehead I will be waiting now till the animation tools are out. Dont feel like paying out more now than others then paying out again for tools that should have been there in the first place. I too had problems gathering the money together over the holidays etc.

Have to wait and see what the animation side of things brings to the table.

Cheers

What are you guys talking about regarding paying more money?

I understood that 7.1 was a free upgrade.

Financing at over 50% p.a.??

If the figures mentioned are true (I didn´t get the mail), stay away from this offer. You´re better off talking to your bank. Or even your neighborhood loan shark

If you can't afford the $299, but think it's "easier" to afford the $116/month, I feel you should stay away from this purchase anyway, unless you're using the program to earn your living.

Shipped right away when you purchase, not after the last payment. Except for breaking the payment up, the purchase is just the same as paying outright, you get processed (sounds nasty!) the same way and don't have to wait any longer for the software.

The price is higher now, but then that is what we said during pre-release - our pre-release price is always the best we offer, and after that the pricing is never quite so good. While console adopters pay more for the priveledge of being an early adopter, we like to reward those customers who are early adopters of the software by letting them pay less :)

Don't forget you can add the course and / or V-Ray into your purchase, and the total price is split over your 3 payments. Hopefully this will make it more accessible for many, as splitting payments is often easier than one lump sum.

I would assume that, eventually, the price of TS7 will drop below the pre-release pricing, but not for quite some time. All other versions of Truespace have gradually stepped down in price as they become outdated.

I suppose I'm stating the obvious, but TomG stated that after pre-release pricing, the pricing is 'never quite so good'. Never is a long time.

Plus, I'm stating the obvious to help get me from a junior member to just a member.

Well I am sure when tS8 is coming out, then we'll see tS7 at less than its pre-release pricing!

But basically for the foreseeable future, the pre-release pricing was the best you will see. If you are thinking of upgrading in 2007 or so, then you might see pricing lower than the pre-release. However, if you are considering upgrading in the near future, you can effectively consider it "never" as it will be too long a wait for that to happen :)
