I had a cluttered scene and found a couple of techniques for isolating geometry for modelling in the player view.

Player rendering - show object attribs

Enable obj mode

change player rendering surface opacity to make everything else invisible.

The second technique works with hierarchial objects.

Change the 3D View to a 2D view

jump in to the hierarchial object using the orange triangle

select one of the objects

change back to 3D view and only the hierarchy object will be visible.

Now you can edit the object you selected without the clutter of other objects.

Excellent discovery you have there with the second technique. My understanding of TS7 just got a little deeper. Thanks man. Although I see you lose the 3D object widget that is for moving, rotating, and scaling, leaving you to either use the icons or the widget from the more cluttered entire scene view.
