This is going to a pretty straight forward composition of the first versions of transport, i.e. first car, first plane, first steamship... etc
Depending on how much time I get to spend on it, the more vehicles I might include but their won't be a 'different' angle which I normally try to put into my scenes but we'll see... |

As long as I've owned TrueSpace, I've never actually entered the monthly contests. Does every month corrospond with a theme for the contest? |

You should try it BirdNest, it is a lot of fun!!!
I've also been using trueSpace since 2000 and only started taking part in MMC and SMC from last year :)
Here is an update...
First I added the steering rod (sweeped cylinder), chasis (cubes), floor boards (more cubes) and drive wheels (cylinders)...
Then the seating (rounded cube) and handbrake (cubes and face sweeps) ...
Then added some detail to the cushion (subdivisioned face and selected faces pulled down)... |

tnx niceg :) they were scary!!!
Okay, just about done with the basic car model... will do some serious texturing depending on how close the model will be to the camera and might add more detail for the same reason, but toying with the idea of have several basic models of various types of transport firsts and putting them into one scene, which would mean no close-ups and no need for detailed models... will see...
here is the engine part added...
then the final model...
and the full render of the final... |

Nice looking model theuns ! I wouldn't mind having one myself...if only it went faster than 10 mph !
It sounded like you were initially going to make a collage ? Have you considered splitting them up into different WIPs as separate images ? |

yes it is suppose to be a low polly model collage... have thought about splitting but don't think i have enough time... because then each model must be in its own scene which means a lot more detail scene setup work and a lot more detail needed on the models for closer shots... |

the Savannah, first true steam ship to sail transatlantic...
what do you think would work better in the time available?
collage with first car, steamship, steamtrain, aircraft?
or
individuals of each? as far as i can get? |

You could start separate WIPs for each project and decide later whether to submit them as different images or to combine them as a collage ! This way you could adjust your thoughts as time permits !:)
Sometimes a titled caption with a solid background, rather than a busy stage, can be just as appealing.
I can now see how the MMC might could have more play if it was actually extended out for a month and a half, instead of squeezing it into one month.;) |
