I'm really getting off to a late start on this one, but I did finally come up with an idea that I wanted to do for this month's MMC 'Nightmares and Dreamscapes'.
So....off we go !...
"Over The Rainbow"

As quoted from 'The Wizard of Oz'....
Dorothy: It really was no miracle. What happened was just this.....
Dorothy: [singing] The wind began to switch / The house, to pitch / And suddenly the hinges started to unhitch / just then the Witch / To satisfy an itch / Went flying on her broomstick, thumbing for a hitch !
Munchkin: And, oh, what happened then was rich !
Munchkins: [singing] The house began to pitch / The kitchen took a slitch / It landed on the Wicked Witch in the middle of a ditch / Which was not a happy situation for the Wicked Witch !

Speaking of textures on the door, fix the visible repeating texture.
Either re-UV map the top or bottom panel, shifting and rotating it or scumble up the texture in your 2D editor, save w/ a new name, and re-apply to either panel.

Thanks nigec !
Finding the right texture and manipulating it to the right size to be then readjusted with different texture settings is part of the fun !
Since you brought it up nigec, I'll share what I used :)...

Speaking of textures on the door, fix the visible repeating texture.

I did that just for you spacekdet (make sure you weren't dozing off ) !
Sometimes, after I've already glued and saved my scene, I may accidentally paint the wrong object when creating a new object ...in this case the door panels. So, instead of ungluing the entire scene (only to have to tediously reglue all the little parts again), I tried to repaint it as the original glued twins. However, as you know, duplicated objects will tend to duplicate painting (selected texture will replicate on sibling). I knew it was there, but I guess I was too lazy to unglue and reglue the entire scene, in hopes that spacekdet was asleep ! In any case, I'm glad you pointed because it does stand out....and I may not have adjusted for the final image !;)
Here, I've added a fence for corn and extended the grounds some more (and fixed the rogue door panel !)......

Thanks:)

My usual trick is to duplicate something instead of clicking undo. I did it with a whole house then wondered why the walls went freaky in a 3D game engine, they do a flashing thing if two surfaces overlap so a whole house was rather interesting lol

I still don't understand why you are ungluing to repaint... just select the glued object, press the down arrow on your keyboard, then right or left arrow key until the subobject you wish to repaint is selected. (this is usually termed 'drilling into the heirarchy')

You may want to have Setting/Desktop/wireframe highlighting set to 'Object' in order to see exactly which subobject is actually selected.

Once the correct suboject is selected via the keyboard, use the 'Paint Object' or 'Repaint Material' tool to apply the new material.

If the material on a glued subobject is unique (not shared with any of the other subobjects), you won't even need to drill down. Just select 'Repaint', & hover the cursor over the material you want to change and click. All instances of the material the cursor is over will update to the new material.
This is the 'twin' behavior that you are seeing... make sure just the single subobject is selected before using paint or repaint tool.

I use this process all the time...It's a long time consuming process that sometimes doesn't give you the object you desire. On another note, I'm not even sure that I'll be able to finish this scene. My saved unfinished scene loads with missing objects, and some of my new separately saved objects are bogging down the program....so it makes it extremely delicate to be lucky enough to move forward towards any type of final presentation. On top of having limited time to work on this and everything else, I'm really getting burned out. Maybe I'll finish ?

I was finally able to place the scarecrow and corn as the separate objects in my final scene setting. Next time, I'm going to try and create the detailed objects (such as straw and corn silk) out of one object, rather than separate objects that increase the count of the finished object. I did find out that it was much easier to manipulate the burdened object on the Workspace side, rather than the Model side. It then becomes a carefully planned out sequence for loading the finished burdened objects into the potential final scene in order to reduce technical difficulties;)
Now....back to the story !...

All is not calm....All is not bright,
a scarecrow stands in a day as night.
The smell of storm brews through the air.
The scarecrow's stare, his scary glare, who shows no care....what could he share ? Why bring me here to this nightmare ?

On hierarchy notes - press down arrow to enter hierarchy, click on the desired object (so long as you don't click outside hierarchy, it ought to select the sub object), or use the LE, or use the Scene Editor, which will let you open up the structure of the object and select the desired part.

Looking very good! This could be my favorite of your work so far, I like the style shown here!

This work is for the Birds...

Watch your horizon line unless this scene is next to the San Andreas fault! (right side of your render)

THANKS Tom !!! You're a great guy:cool: ! Sorry if I come across like a butthole sometimes !;):)

This work is for the Birds...:rolleyes:Watch your horizon line unless this scene is next to the San Andreas fault! (right side of your render)

I had originally planned to fill the right side in with another cornfield. However, I kind of like the idea of having the scene resting on a cliff's edge...it's still a WIP ! It's funny you should mention birds, as I am considering putting one or two crows in the scene ? I haven't been able to work on this but a couple nights this week, and I'll be lucky to squeeze in 2 nights next week to decide on a finished scene. In any case, it's been a fun, and as usual, another learning experience for me !:)

Looking good mr.3d. You have your own style, that is something to cherish. If we start getting picky on textures I recommend you repaint that door :D

The texture is now upside down and the shadow that is in the texture does not make sense this way, Compare it to the big plank in the bottom of the shed, where the paint texture is in the correct orientation and is therefore more realistic.

Cheers

Georg

hee-hee;)....boowahahahaaaaaa rjeff...'Nightmares and Dreamscapes' !
As far as your known subtelty regarding my condition, it would be nice to win one of these before I'm drained ! As a matter of fact, I think my bird here is pretty damn good (besides the rest of the scene) !

Like in the video...staring at the snow can make you dazed for days.
I still enjoyed his music over the decades...and his reality show was fun to watch also
