Just a single concept drawing or should I say simple. :D
Just part of a larger theme, haven't thought about the other parts yet. |

Interesting start as always James - I was pretty confident you'd be able to come up with something interesting on this one.
Not that I'm saying there's something twisted about your mind or anything...;):D
Would be interested to see a wire view so I can figure how much is geometry and how much is clever use of materials....
Looking forward to seeing what you can come up with, might have to find a sofa to hide behind... |

Wow! That's what I like about your work James - its all so original. Me, I can only copy things whereas you have the ability to create anew. Wish I had your imagination. Mind you, if that means you have nightmares like this I think I'll stick to just copying. :D |

Thanks!
Wire frame - Ya, think I showed one in the last didn't I? Hmmm, don't remember.
For sure, nothing is wireframe right now, just doodling to get some ideas. :D

Nightmares? Who ever wakes up? I stay in perpetual dream state. :) |

Okay, starting modeling and what-not.
I call these part the abstract lumber-flower garden. |

I'm curious to see what it will become. Myself, I don't know what I'll do when I start something. :D |

Still fiddling around with this, decided to add a well just because.
Well needs some texture work, might have to hammer on it a bit. :D |

Re-modeled the well, added more vertices, etc. so I could use the soft displacement brush.
Although, some of the larger rocks may require a further beating to make them more roughed up. :D |

Added the usual to the dreamscape/nightmare - disembodied heads, snakes and of course, every water well needs to be in the middle of a body of water. :D
Might be doing skeleton oarsmen or something else, haven't decide. Making entry for the list of fears that man experiences and dreads when he sleeps. Of course the most feared is the much feared disembodied head of the trueSpace forum 'kiwi' wizard hovering around the well. :D |

Trumpet for the scene. Just your ordinary, not made from a drawing, brass trumpet. Doubt this design would work, just hooked some 'pipes' together. :D |

Still messing around, trying for the 'painterly look' just using lights and render effects. |

Very good work there so far! I wish I had time to do a wip, but it looks like I can't.
This is brilliantly done. |

I think this version might be too scary. The evil 'crupple toy Barney' added as a background. :D |

I like this work personal and original. The composition of the image is more important than modeling. As an abstract painting. |

I like your lighting in this one ! Barney does give it more of a parent and child (bad dream) theme....trumpet lessons, falling down a well, competing with Barney... |

Thank you marcel,
It is fun to kick around ideas and not worry about modeling so much. :)

You get an A+ for understanding the meaning of the composition! The only thing you missed was the wooden flowers - a subtle influence, but prominent in the dream - I'll leave it hidden until someone discovers it. :) |

that Barney is pretty scarey, for sure! I can just hear that annoying patronising voice... (my kids have several videos)
I don't exactly where you're going with this but i rarely do - but i do usually enjoy the journey... looking great/weird/surreal already, interested on seeing what else you add.
Bizarrely I was also thinking of something sort of from a child's point of view for my own composition, albeit in a slightly different sense to this... |

Added the proverbial monster under the bed' into the scene. Needs texturing, resizing, placement and all that stuff - but started anyway. :D |

Going good! I'm having problems looking at it because of "the big purple thing I don't like to talk about", but it's a good composition. |

Still working on the old dreamscape/nightmare scene. Lighting and textures to be fixed, objects to be placed, (hideous laughter inserted) and other stuff, well ya know... |

Made Barney more ethereal, carrying a cracked easter egg. Added a small headstone. Minor adjustments. Tomorrow is another day - er, it is tomorrow here already - but I started yesterday - ummm |

Wow James, I get the feeling that you and Steinie have been hanging out together or something... :D
I like the dreary Tim Burton style lighting in post #26 the best. Paired with a dark smoky, foggy (forest?) background, that'd be rather gloomy and nightmarish. |

I follow Steinie around and steal his ideas (smirks).
Hmm, smoky, foggy...working on the Tim Burton thing...
Something like this maybe?
Hmm, that leaf monster lost it's alpha...or the jpeg didn't preserve it... |
