You can however use it as a texture and paint it onto objects (so you would paint it onto a plane, like playing a movie onto a projection screen, if you wanted to use it as backdrop for an animation or a view outside a window etc). HTH! Tom PS - there was a recent thread on making the AVI texture playback during a render, a quick search should uncover it.
