Meet Nadia!

Russian from Kiev, 42, 5 ft 5in, University trained cosmonaut, electronic systems specialist and unlicensed warp drive engineer, and darn good at "intuitive engineering". She's the kind of officer you need on a limited hand, deep space, rare gas mining freighter that can handle emergencies with a cool head.

Yeah ... she's a bit sexy, but she thinks her hips are too wide ... go figure:rolleyes:

... anyway, that's really an important part of the story where she's faced with an anti-female shiphand attitude from an irate and sarcastic first mate (who actually fears her intelligence) and a womanizing space crew, denied liberty for WAY TOOooooo long!

Poor Nadia! Just wants to explore the cosmos and see what's beyond the next star like most spacers.

Chuckle! Nadia's space suit doesn't look like it would be much good in a hard vacuum!!

She would probably have less hassles from the rest of the crew if she avoided the swimming pool and that bikini.

And what sort of rare gas mining frieghter has a swimming pool onboard anyway?

I'm looking forward to more of her story though.

This is Deep Space Mining Corp.'s "limited crew" mining freighter "Harvester II": Gantry system rigged for six, carbonized tritallium alloy pressure bottles rated for 15000 psi and each carrying roughly 184 thousand cubic meters of liquefied metallic gasses; 117,000 megawatt cargo teleportation system; motivation supplied by two (slightly customized) 300,000 megawatt, heated ion thrusters with a maximum total thrust of 836K foot pounds and a sustained speed of .76(C)

(That's a little slow and out dated but DSMC is famous for running older equipment in bad need of repair!)

Her mission is to teleport rare gasses, especially dense metallic gasses, from the center of remote gas giant planets, which in this story is her down fall when the arrogant first mate and cargo specialist accidentally transports a metallic gas into a bottle already containing another type of gas known to combine with the first rather violently when stimulated by a magnetic field such as a transport field!!!!!

KABOOM!!!!!

...sending the forward command center and living quarters hurtling towards one of the gas giant's smaller moons (about to enter it's 1.5 year dark period behind the planet....hense "A Darkened Moon")

By-the-way, the pool is on the "Liddo Deck" ......... no wait ....... that's a different ship!

Not bad, not bad. I'm doing some charakter modeling as well right now. Though not a female, nor human to be precise :D

Things I don't like: The haircut. Eighter it's quite hard to cut them at 0 gravity or they don't care

The puffy lips must be a result of a botchers injections. Oh, and what's the dent in her panty :D ?

Oh well, don't take my comments too serious, don't want to be harsh. But That's what I would work on ;)

Well, I miss the forums for a week and when I come back who's here but the Captain. :) Good to see ya Paul. I see you've brought some new models with you. As always, good stuff! Can't wait to see more. :)

Say, did you ever do anymore on your ship? It would be cool to see how that turned out. :)

Too... much... joke potential... must resist... :D

Do you mean bulge [outwards]? A dent [inwards] would be what's colloquially referred to as "camel toe" [a.k.a frontal wedgie].

Yep, a bulge to be precise. I'm sorry 3Dpkd, didn't want to make a joke out of this thread. But your lively story asked for that kind of feedback ;)

's OK
Jokes are acceptable:)

In the original Pool shot, Nadia was naked. After working on her wire frame in that standard position it suddenly occurred to me that it looked like she was standing on the end of a diving board. In the process (and because she was naked) I was trying different ways to represent ... well ... you know:o (too long at sea!)

I have no reason to try to make her anatomically correct, it's NOT that kind of animation and she wants to be known for her engineering capabilities anyway, but she was naked and needed a little fur. I gave her too much!

The hair was just a test piece to work out the mahogany color with light highlights. The procedural texture is three layers and works pretty good but I need to work out a better, low poly form.

The lips are from a messed up head frame and the face texture no longer quit fits. I used the facial animator to see how Nadia would look when she spoke with no backup copy of her head. Something glitched and made her lips angular and crooked. I can fix the problem, just haven't had the time.

Hay Délé!
It's good to be back here and doing 3d again. It was a long time before I had any way to get on line from this ship.

I haven't worked on the trueSpace version of the John Parish since I left Savannah, GA to come down here after the storms, but the REAL boat I'm working on now ("Quinn River") is the same hull.

Originally the "Celeste", it's a sister ship built by the same shipyard here in Houma, Louisiana, but the Quinn River doesn't have the upper pilot house or the towing wench on the main deck. I'll dig my camera out and post a picture. We've been refurbishing it to run as an industrial dive boat to be used to repair storm damaged submerged pipes out in the Gulf oil fields.

I'll post some more on this animation later
By the way, I tried the old link to your web sight but it failed. Do you have another address or did you let it go? I need somewhere to post some of the animation without compressing it into .gif format.

Paul

Cool, that would be interesting to see. :)

Yeah, the website is temporarily down right now. I let it lapse because the hosting company I use now offers free domain names with hosting. So now I don't have to pay the extra $35 a year to register.com anymore. I'm planning on getting it back up soon, as I would like to have a place to consolidate all of my scripts so they're easier to locate. It may be a month or two yet though because Uncle Sam seems to have run off with my wallet. :(

LOL, yeah, I know the feeling [except the sea part].

I've always preferred Linoleum to carpet. ;)
